The Oregon Ducks may have played the 119th ranked team in the nation on Saturday but they did what they had to do to impress the voters.

Oregon jumped to #16 in the Associated Press poll, moving up two spots from last week and jumped two spots to #14 in USA Today poll.  Oregon leapfrogged South Florida, last years Sun Bowl opponent, after the Bulls had a tough time with Central Florida having to go to overtime to win the game.

The biggest surprise of this week was once again the East Carolina Pirates who after upsetting Virginia Tech last week, outlasted #9 West Virginia 24-3, moving the Pirates into AP poll at #14 and the USA Today Poll at #20.

Ohio State, without their outstanding running back Beanie Wells due to injury, had trouble with in-state opponent Ohio early but prevailed in the end to win 26-14.  Voters dropped the Buckeyes to #5 in both polls as the Buckeyes await the anticipated matchup with #1 USC Trojans.

Oregon faces Purdue next Saturday in their first road game of the season on ABC at 12:30.
