The Oregon coaching staff has had great success in the past years of bringing in Polynesians to the Oregon campus and seeing them become stars on the football field. Haloti Ngata, Jeremiah Masoli, Will Tukuafu, and Junior Siavii are just some of the many Polynesians to come to Oregon and see success. The next possible Polynesian that could come in and be a star is Farrington High School located in Honolulu, HI Linebacker VJ Fehoko.
The 6 foot 220 pound senior-to-be linebacker has just started seeing his recruiting process pick up speed as the 2009 class has passed and coaches can now focus primarily on the 2010 class. In his Junior season this past fall Fehoko recorded 86 tackles, 19.5 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one interception.
Fehoko has already seen his name circulate to the mainland as he’s hearing from almost every school on the west coast he says.
“I am hearing from all of the schools in the Pac-10 but USC. But I am also hearing from Texas Tech, Colorado, Nebraska, Texas AM, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Michigan State, Tennessee, BYU, and Utah,” says Fehoko.
“I also have been offered by Texas Tech, Colorado, Washington, California, UCLA, Boise State, Hawaii, Stanford, Tennessee, Nebraska, UNLV, BYU, and Utah. I also think offers from Oregon, Oregon State, and Alabama will be coming soon,” Foheko went on to say.
Fehoko informed Ducks Attack he is looking for a school with good academics, being able to have a good connection with his peers at school, early playing time, and most importantly where he simply can fit in and feel comfortable.
So what kind of interest does Fehoko have in the Oregon program?
“Oh I really like the Polynesian connection we got there at Oregon. I watched an Oregon Duck highlight reel awhile back and thought that was the best college football highlight I had ever seen and since then I have loved the Oregon Ducks. Last but not least hands down I am interested in Oregon because of Haloti Ngata as that’s my cousin.” Fehoko said.
As for spring and summer plans he only plans on going to Texas Tech because he has an older brother who plays for the Red Raiders and he will get a chance to see him play for their spring game. He could also check out the Utah and BYU football programs as he will be in Utah for the All-Poly camp.
Fehoko made it clear he has no favorites however at this point in time.
“Oh no, I am keeping things open right now. I am going to give every school a fair chance to recruit me,” says Fehoko.

We would love to have a member of the Ngata family on board. Man that guy was tough. Sounds like this kid can bring it too.
