Peat Talks Visit To Oregon Schools

If any position is a little thin this season for the Ducks, it’s the defensive line. And with three starters graduating after this year, Zac Clark, Kenny Rowe, and Brandon Bair, expect the Duck staff to pursue the DL position more than any other position.
One player to keep an eye on is 6’3” 300-pound DT Todd Peat from Corona Del Sol High School (Tempe, Arizona). He already has a double digit amount of scholarships extended to him with offers from half the Pac-10 and the national champions, Alabama.
Peat had informed Ducks Attack that he was visiting the Oregon schools last week, unofficially. We were able to catch up with him this week to get a recap on how his visits to Oregon and Oregon State went.
“I really enjoyed visiting both schools. For Oregon State, I got to meet Coach Riley, and he’s a good person. I really enjoyed our conversation. I also liked their campus. For Oregon, their facilities were out of this world! I was blown away by them. Both visits went great.”
Oregon State has already extended an offer to Peat, but Oregon still has yet to offer Peat and consequently, they are a little behind the rest of the schools despite Peat expressing interest in Oregon.
“Oregon has not offered yet. I’m not sure where they are in the evaluation process. I’m pretty wide open right now. But they have not offered, so at this point, they are behind the 16 schools that have.”
Even though Oregon hasn’t offered yet, Peat clearly has interest, and the Ducks still have a lot of time to make a run at Peat as he doesn’t plan to pull the trigger anytime soon.
“I will make my decision after I take all of my visits, possibly at the Army All American game.”

Nice article, thanks for the update.
I wonder if Oregon doesn’t think they have a chance here. Aliotti said that he wants the 2 biggest guys he can find in the middle then 9 other of the fastest guys he can get, so it’d be a no-brainer IMO that they’d want Peat.
We’ll see how it plays out.
