Oregon landed two offensive lineman to add to their 2011 recruiting class. First to commit was Chandler, Arizona OL Tyler Johnstone. He picked Oregon over schools such as UCLA, TCU, Oregon State, along with a dozen others. Both scout and rivals rank him as a 3 star prospect.
Ducks have become no stranger to the Grand Canyon State, especially when it comes to offensive lineman. Andre Yruretagoyena, one of Arizona’s best prospects for the class of 2011, committed to Oregon just less than a month ago. And Arizona’s top recruit from the 2010 class, Nick Rowland, picked the Ducks as well.
Even with big time offensive lineman prospects like Johnstone, Yruretagoyena, and Rowland, the Oregon coaches made sure not to overlook the talent in Oregon. The Ducks shortly landed received another OL verbal commitment, this time from Portland’s own 6′7″ 280-pound James Euscher out of Aloha High School. While Oregon is his only current offer, he had received some interest from other Pac-10 schools. His size and upside make him an intriguing prospect and an ideal player for coach Steve Greatwood to work with.
The Ducks may not be done recruiting in Arizona just yet. 4 star DT Todd Peat is interested in Oregon, but doesn’t hold an offer, while 4 star athlete Kelvin Fisher is getting recruited to come to Oregon by the recent Ducks, Yruretagoyena and Johnstone. Fisher visited Oregon in early June, and recently took an unofficial visit to Arkansas. Both schools are high on his list.
