Yes, I really think that was the first he had heard that Oregon won in a blowout. He might have already heard they'd be playing Oregon from the time the game finished to getting to the podium, but what advantage would it have given him to know about the Rose bowl before or during the Sugar Bowl in which they needed to overcome a 15pt deficit? That wasn't a chess move on his part either. There is too much familiarity between the coaching staffs and they'll keep it friendly and cordial throughout and after the 2nd Rose Bowl.
