With how many players they actually have (10 by my count), the Blazers still don't have enough money committed to comply with the NBA's minimum salary rule. I read that right now, they only have about $35 million in salary with that likely to only go up to about $40 million if Batum signs. They have to get up to around $48 to do that so they better start signing some people.
Roy's contract still counts towards that since Paul Allen is still paying him so Blazers could stand pat and be way under the cap and just go into the season with a crap team and work on several unbalanced trades in the season

Wow, yes please. Lopez can't rebound worth crap, but his offense and defense down low would be great.

aldridge/lopez would be a comically poor rebounding duo. the message board meltdowns when we can't grab a late rebound might be work the contract.
