It's the first time since 07 we aren't ranked. If you go by ranking were the 7th best team in the league. I'm hoping we end the season ranked and I think we should.

Usc is back to being a media darling who ends up with 4 losses.

Being ranked as the 34th best team in the country after what happened last year, I'll take it.

Of course there are no 4-8 teams on there. Looking forward to switching those numbers by end of season.

I'm Shocked!!!

Only 6 teams from the SEC??? Oh wait, after they finish their extreme cupcake preseason schedule Texas A &M, Arkansas and Mississippi State will be in there as well which will make 9. And then they start playing each other and it's "But they lost to a top 25 SEC team!!!" Which we will hear for at least another 3 weeks and then finally the SEC will have their 4 real teams. Just watch.

Examples of SEC cupcakes on the schedule the first month of SEC games:

La Tech (2)
Florida A & M
App St
USM
Charleston
S. Alabama
MTSU
N. Colorado
E. Kentucky
Chattanooga
UT Martin
Nicholls St
Alabama A & M
Mercer
Samford
ULL
U Mass
N Mexico St
E. Michigan
Troy

And that doesn't count later in the year when it seems everyone has a cupcake before their rival.

In fairness, the Pac-12 has their share of pussies as well, just not the veritable, inevitable yearly plethora of the mighty SEC.

S. Utah
New Mexico St
N. Dakota
W. Michigan
Portland St
Montana St
Weber St.

^In truth, some of those teams you've listed are decent mid-majors as opposed to the likes of Weber State.

Right, like LaTech, they have been to three straight bowls (should of been 4 but dumb move cost them a place) and have won three straight beating Illinois, Arkansas State, and Navy. ULL has been to the New Orleans bowl 5 times since '11 and won all but once. Schools like Troy, ULL, LaTech, ULM and App State have shocked larger teams.

Though I agree with Saban that all power 5 schools should play each other and I would take it a step farther and say that FBS schools should be forced to only play other FBS schools. However, until there is a rule change why would a school not schedule a smaller schools to give the little guy a payday and you some practice. I mean other than giving me the fan a better selections of games to go to cause I'm certainly not going to hit Chattanooga State this year.

According to this, Oregon has the toughest nonconf schedule this year.

I would of said Cal with two power five opponents but considering they are catching Ole Miss in dumpster fire mode I can see why they are only 5th on the list.

ETA: Speaking of Cal, ESPN is ranking them with the toughest schedule for 2017 http://www.espn.com/college-football/st ... rder/false

Their offense hasn't played yet either. You can't complement one side of ball and claim ignorance on the other because they haven't played yet.
