There was also a generous "hit" given to a ball that Haniger had in his glove, but couldn't close it up, the hitter went on to score the first run for the Red Sox.

I mean, it is Seattle, what do you expect from a bunch of Huskies.

7-6 Mariners. Hard to describe this one. Started off with Segura hitting a home run, then the Mariners picking up 2 more in the 2nd, for a 3-0 lead with their best pitcher on the mound. But then the 3rd inning. 11 Red Sox came to the plate, Mariners had errors all over the place, and when the dust settled, it was 6-3 Red Sox. Mariners cut it to 6-4 in the 5th, but left the bases loaded. Top of the 7th, Red Sox line drive is inches away from taking out relief pitcher Rob Whalen, but 2nd baseman, Dee Gordon grabs it and gets the force at 2nd to end the inning. Bottom of the 7th, Mike Zunino hits one out, 6-5. Bottom of the 8th, pinch hitting, Denard Span, , doubles to right, scoring Andrew Romine, and Ben Gamel to take the lead. It's up to the league leader in Saves to get it done, and that's just what Diaz does getting Xander Bogaerts, 2 hR's in the first two games of the series, to settle for a walk, before getting the next two out on a pop up, and a dribbler down the first base line.

1-0 Mariners. Wade LeBlanc gave up a hit to lead off hitter and leading average hitter in the league, Mookie Betts, who would be taken care of with a double play, and didn't give up another hit until Boston got one with 2 outs in the 7th. Dee Gordon made some spectacular plays in the field, and scored on Nelson Cruz's two out single in the third for the only run in the game. Diaz came in the 9th looking to add to his league leading Saves, and struck out the side, finishing off with Betts.

9-3 Red Sox this one started bad and got worse. Mariners, 46-26, split with the Red Sox 49-24, 2-2, go 5-7 on the home stand. Now it's off to New York, 3 with the Yankees, 46-21, 3 at Fenway, and then 4 at Camden Yards against the 20-50 Orioles.

Sox give one game away. Still split with a very good M's team on the road. We'll see how it turns out at Fenway next week...

Yankees started the game leading the league in Home Runs, now they lead it by even more; Yankees hit 4 homers, Mariners hit one, Yankees 7 Mariners 2, but, Houston's win streak ends at 12, with a 2-1 loss to the Rays. Don't feel bad for Houston though, they don't play a team with better than a .500 winning % before they get to the All Star break.

i had a really bad feeling when judge hit that 2-run single in the 5th to make it 5-2. suddenly it became less of a 3-run cushion and more of a question of how the hell the m's were going to keep that lead and get 12 more outs.

Ya really lame to blow a 5-0 lead. NY is pushing us around right now. Their offense is deadly.

Paxton has had a horrible time lately, he gave up 6 runs in 2 1/3 innings against Boston, the Mariners did come back to win that one; in this one, the Yankees, got two 2 run home runs in the first inning off Paxton, and the Mariners did not come back to win losing 4-3. In other news, SS, Jean Segura is sidelined for a while with an arm infection: https://www.mlb.com/mariners/news/jean- ... -282256102 "It was some kind of scratch or bug bite or pimple or whatever you want to call it, but it got infected and is pretty swollen and was bothering him a little bit yesterday," Seattle manager Scott Servais said. "He's on some antibiotics, so hopefully he'll be better in a day or two. But we have to be careful with it."

Well, the Mariners blew a 5 run lead again, this time, also blowing a 4 run lead. After starting the game with a 4 run first, home runs by Nelson Cruz, who would hit another home run, go 4/5 with 7 rbi, and Ryon Healy, the Red Sox scored 5 in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. But the Mariners came back with 2 in the second, 6-5 lead. It went to 10-5, until the 7th, when the Red Sox scored 5 again to take the lead they would not get back, and go on to win 14-10.

we finished the toughest 15 game stretch we’ll have this season 7-8. that was a rough week, but i’ll take it. what’s more important is that we began this 15 game stretch 4.5 games ahead of the angels, and after today’s games we’re 6.5 up.

we have some winnable series coming up this week, 4 at baltimore and three at home against KC.
