Nice opportunity for the conference to get a good win vs. a ranked B1G team here.

If both teams play the same as week one, ASU comes out on top. Really would be great for the Pac.

I am not firm for Herm. I think MSU smokes them.

I'm not either but I think they've just got such a good QB-WR combo that it's going to be tough for MSU to hold up all game long.

Eno Benjamin is also one hell of a RB. I don’t know any team in the conference with a better QB-WR-RB combination than ASU.

Michigan State grabs the first lead, 3-0, 13:13 in the 2nd quarter.

ASU pulls off the upset, winning 16-13 on a FG as time expired. Another big non-con win for the Pac-12.

I guess Herm played to win the game.

Is MSU good or was this two “meh” teams battling it out? Neither team has looked remotely impressive two weeks in. Preseason polls made this game an upset.

MSU looks very pedestrian, but what makes that puzzling is they return something like 18 starters. Maybe they read too many of their own press clippings this summer and coasted.

ASU could be a problem team for years to come? That was some pretty good D and Herm is going to build on that with his own classes....Perhaps Texas could hire Herm away......

So who else believes that Herm did the right thing by making the last snap a "win or overtime" play? Anyone think he should have kicked it on 3rd down in case of a bad snap or hold and then let the defense take the chance? I don't know if anyone has done a study on it but it does seem like the likelihood of the bad snap/hold seems to be awfully low based on all the other snaps/holds throughout games and how often they get bobbled.

I can't believe they won. I now have to be firm for Herm until proven otherwise.

They only were able to run the clock down to 4 seconds because they ran it on 3rd down. Had they kicked it on 3rd down, there would have been around 45-50 seconds left so it wouldn't make sense to settle for a field goal in that scenario.

I know that, which is why I'm asking who is more a fan of the zero sum situation which Herm went with or the give yourself an out and rest on your defense strategy. Further, if you do have a bad snap on 3rd down with 38 seconds, the clock keeps running and you line up and try again.
