Stanford @ Oregon St. (Sat., 4 p.m., P12N)
This is a very intriguing matchup to me. Stanford not the team it has been and hurting. The Beavers coming off a bye week. The Cardinal favored by 4. I think there's a lot of excitement in Corvallis for the chance that the Beavers can get their conference season started off well. I'm thinking Oregon St., at home after a bye and a win in their last outing, could very well win this (also allowing their fans to contemplate how their win compares to the Ducks' win over Stanford). But I also wouldn't be surprised if Shaw has his team totally prepared and Stanford walks out of Reser with a solid win. I will be rooting for Stanford since I'd like them to be building their confidence in order to have a chance in their next game -- at home vs. UW.

I hadn't considered your point about Stanford building their confidence with Washington coming up; which was my mistake because I saw a listless at best Cardinal team against the Ducks and that plus the Beevs coming off a bye, and Reser being potentially 3/4 full for this one led me to pick the upset. I now can see OSU missing the game winning FG as time runs out.

Well, I'd say the Beavers' odds just got better.

Beavs have a golden opportunity here. Would probably help them in recruiting.

Looks like Stanford squeaked this one out with a game winning field goal. OSU almost made a good comeback, but not quite enough. OSU scores more against Stanford than Oregon did, gross.

Yeah, Beavers' offense piled up a lot of yards but the scoreboard really didn't quite bear that out.

Two late personal, stupid personal fouls all but buried them....... they had the win in their reach.

Beavers offense has potential to be pretty good.

Something sad to think about- I would take OSU's top RB (possibly 2) over our top RB, and would take their top WR over our top WR.UOducksTK1 wrote:Beavers offense has potential to be pretty good.
