Tannehill replaces Mariota

Post by Merganzer »

With The Titans trailing the Broncos, 13-0, Marcus was replaced. Hopefully this leads to better times for Marcus in the future.

This is seriously great. I hope it stays this way for the rest of the year because:
1. It will show how bad the entire offense really is with Tannenhill in (ie. it's really not Mariota's fault)
2. He can stop taking hits and rest up for a better team next year

Totally agree. With the success of RPO qb’s now in the league, hopefully he gets a shot with a good team that has a qb about to retire, or a team willing to use Marcus’ abilities. Stay on the bench, stay healthy Marcus. Best of luck to you. If only Joey had been drafted by a good team...

With fresh legs, Tannehill is sacked four times and throws a pick with no points. Maybe it isn't just Marcus.

Might not be too long for Winston either, 6 turnovers in the game against Carolina.

Tennessee is just a bad franchise. They continually ruin first round QBs and are constantly changing their HCs and OCs to the point where they have no identity. Also, they get almost no production from their OL. Today was a perfect example of how overpaid they are:

As all of us know, benching Marcus is the best thing that could have happened for Marcus, let Tannelhill be the recipient of that terrible Oline and their lookout blocks! Keep Marcus healthily and hope he goes to a stable team who has some other players around him.

Mariota played poorly, for sure. But his team stinks too.

We all know Mariota is capable of way better except the naive Titans fans. He literally has been broken by that OLine and awful organization. Hopefully someone like the LA Chargers gives him a chance, and with some talent and an OC with half a brain, he'll be able to play to his potential and show that he isn't that bad after all.

Time out, Marcus isn't safe yet. According to reports, Tennessee will make the decision on quarterback moving forward, tomorrow. After Tannehill's performance in relief, as depressing as that would be, Marcus could be reinstated.

Neither side does the other any favors. Time to move on.

Teams Mariota should considering signing with:

Patriots
Steelers
Colts
Broncos
Chargers
Buccaneers ( I think he would fit much better w/Arians)

Steelers, Pats and Chargers he may have to wait a year but easily worth it IMO to get in with an established franchise. Colts might be a sneaky good fit with their supporting cast.

Pretty sure colts signed brissett to a longer contract, and the kid can play. Bucs wouldn't be much better than his current situation, other than he at least would have receivers to catch the ball. I think the Steelers would be his best option, followed by the Patriots and Broncos.

The Tennessee Titans are rolling with Ryan Tannehill.
Tennessee is set to start Tannehill at quarterback over incumbent starter Marcus Mariota when it faces the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday (3:05 p.m., CBS), according to NFL Network.

Now all Mariota needs is a pre-game self-induced concussion for the rest of the season so he won't have to go in when the O-line murders Tannenhill.
