SEC going to 10-game conference schedule

Post by greenyellow »

The SEC has finally made the decision to go with a 10-game conference schedule that won't start until September 26th.

Kinda funny after the ACC went to 10+1 yesterday so they could preserve the SEC rivalry games. I wonder if they go back and just scrap the extra game since everyone else seems to be doing the 10 game schedule this year.

The majority of those games are played at the end of the year. From what I here the SEC wanted to drop them to give the conference maximum flexibility to reschedule games if necessary.

This is going to kill the conference win - loss record and 8 teams in the top 20 with those pesky head to head match ups

They’ll still have 8 teams in the top 20, even if they are all 6-6. It’s just the SEC feasting in itself, obviously.

Good to see the SEC have to cannibalize itself like other conferences have had to for years.
