Checklist for Alabama

Post by Merganzer »

Do's: Win Division? No
Win Conference? No
Don't's: Have your Heisman candidate QB get injured? Yes
On track for CFP? Looking good.

Saban just said about the upcoming game against Auburn: "They're the best team we've played, probably, so far."

I guess we have give Saban credit for not coming out and telling us how much we should respect Alabama for how they came out and battled Western Carolina, w/o Tua, with their toughest opponent coming up.

Until the Committee does something to dispel the notion; the CFP is the Alabama Invitational. ESPN is running the script, "How can Alabama impress the Committee?" not, "What does Utah need to do?" We already saw the checklist for Alabama, and what they haven't done already. But now, if they beat what will be 8-4 Auburn; "Roll Tide, right in to the CFP!"
Meanwhile Utah has won their division, could win their conference, but tough luck, Utes and Oklahoma. At least Clemson will win their conference. Ohio State jumped LSU to #1 because the Committee is setting up Alabama for #4 & the Committee doesn't want Alabama & LSU in the first game.

All the talk is about if Alabama beats Auburn? Some will concede that Alabama has to BEAT Auburn. I think they at least have to equal Ohio State beating Wisconsin, 59-0 with Cardell Jones at QB. Of course a big difference here is that Ohio State did that in the Big 10 CCG; for Alabama, this will be the last game of the regular season against 3rd place Auburn.

Boy would I love to be in that locker room after the game. I bet Saban is flipping his s***.

Apparently they need to learn to count to 11 at Alabama.

Maybe 11 is as far as they can count in Alabama; after that it's just a misty blur.

He's blaming the officials saying he should have been able to sub a grouping out due to a substitution that Auburn made by taking their punter off.

Well darn, Nick, you could be right. In fact, let's say you are. Sorry. Turns out he really isn't right. Alabama thought that Auburn would punt. Auburn came out with the punter on the field, but not in punt formation. Alabama decides that maybe they aren't going to punt and tries to replace their returner with a player, and get caught with 12. We also learned that since Saban has been at Alabama, Roll Tide has missed more FG's than any other FBS team.
