USC fires Clay Helton Edit: He's returning
No surprise. This was expected. Let the Urban Meyer talk take center stage now.

There are multiple reports contradicting this report.

Ya know, this kind of stuff could really hurt recruiting, keep it up and they'll be behind Miami..of Ohio.

Didn’t something really similar to this happen last year?

I believe it was another, "will USC keep Helton?" just like this time. Makes me wonder; how did it go so wrong at USC? Mike Garrett was AD through the Carroll years, but, since then, keeping with former players, Haden then Swann, not so good. Now, Mike Bohn, who did not play at USC.pudgejeff wrote:Didn’t something really similar to this happen last year?
A new AD, but a new coach doesn't start out with him? Why? Helton did improve on last season. But recruiting is down, and not just by USC standards. Maybe Urban Meyer, and other big name coaches simply aren't interested.

The fact is the USC Glory Days are over, and they never would have happened to such extent if Oregon was like the program they have been this decade(other than from 2015-2017). They very likely would not have had such a monopoly on recruiting like they did back then and who knows maybe Reggie Bush may have chosen Oregon over USC just like De'Anthony did.

USC is a dumpster fire right now.
