So if a team gets COVID in the 2nd round, that means the other team advanced, right?

I'm guessing it would be a forfeit, but if I'm not mistaken, they are all in a bubble now, so it shouldn't be a problem. They quarantined ahead of time, and this was the idea behind having everyone in 1 city. Obviously that doesn't mean it's fail proof, but the NBA was able to pull it off. I don't believe they had a positive test once everyone got into the bubble.UOducksTK1 wrote:So if a team gets COVID in the 2nd round, that means the other team advanced, right?

Its not a bubble, they are just in one state together. They are calling it a "controlled environment"droop10 wrote:I'm guessing it would be a forfeit, but if I'm not mistaken, they are all in a bubble now, so it shouldn't be a problem. Yes, if a team gets infected then the other team simply advances

Pretty good game between UCLA and Sparty going to O.T. now. The Bruins were down a lot early and were still down 5 with 90 seconds left and came back. We'll see if they can finish it out and make all the Big 10 fans' collective heads explode.

Pleasantly surprised to see UCLA come from behind and beat Michigan State. Pac-12 is 1-0 in the tourney.

Hopefully their guard that went down is okay. Dude hit some pretty big shots tonight during the comeback.

Yup fun game, glad UCLA won. I still have BYU beating them though.

Well it's 2021. Maybe the people that select brackets based on mascots can instead this year select teams based on the state they reside in, correlating state-based Covid cases as risk assessment for whom will play and advance versus forfeit. Sounds like a terrible idea

Is anybody picking someone other than Gonzaga or Oregon to win it all?

I am in an office pool and I took Illinios. Almost everyone had Gonzaga, so figured it was worth the risk. They have good guard play and an elite big, so I think they have a shot.
However, Gonzaga's offense is just sick.

I have Arkansas in the Sweet 16, but I won't be the least bit upset to see a Southeastern Conference team go down early. If they become good at basketball outside of Kentucky, college sports will become insufferable.
