It'd be nice if we finished the draft before we do the FA thing. I won't know how much money I have or players for that matter.

What's the max you can offer a FA not on your team that has been in the league 10 plus years?

No, there's just no specifics in the rules section on essentially fa max contracts first year

It is abased on the soft cap: 34,000,000. From there the salary is base upon the experience and based upon a % of the cap. These numbers represent when a player signs with a new team. The max for a player with 6 years or less experience is 25% of the soft cap, 7-9 years 30%, 10 years or more experience 35%.

This Max contract has the value listed below and can be a max of 6 years with yearly % increases of 10% every year

Exp. Min. Max
0 $332,817 $8,500,000
1 $465,850 $8,500,000
2 $540,850 $8,500,000
3 $565,850 $8,500,000
4 $590,850 $8,500,000
5 $653,350 $8,500,000
6 $715,850 $8,500,000
7 $778,350 $10,200,00
8 $840,850 $10,200,000
9 $965,850 $10,200,000
10 $1,000,000 $11,900,000

First a quick aside, bird year. Evey year a player is on a team without change teams via FA (meaning trades do not reset this) a player gains one Larry Bird year. Once you have gained three total your contract situation changes dramatically.

If you are resigning your own player, there are two scenarios:
1) Less than 3 bird years:
Say I want to resign Chris Mullins, who was on the Ks last year, but does not have bird years. I can offer him normally as above or, if I am over the cap, I can offer him a one year deal equal to 110% of his previous year's deal (same 10% rules as above).

2) you have 3 or more bird years: here you have many more options.
first, unlike any of the above when you do not have 3 bird years on a give player you can offer the above amount based on years or the player's previous year's plus 12.5% as a starting contract. Second, you can offer a 7th year. third, you can offer 12.5% raises every year instead of the 10%
