Or maybe he has been making money playing overseas and is just now going to come over. I guess we'll find out in the draft notes

If I trade for a MLE player before the MLE extension deadline, will I still be able to extend the player? Or is that reserved only for the team that originally signs said player?

The team that signed the player has to do the MLE extension.

Does the cap go up in the game like in the real NBA?

Till the trade deadline I would assume. Unless you wanted to sign someone for MLE after but why would you.

Technically until the season ends, but yeah before the trade deadline would probably make most sense like ownage said.
