Current HOF Players
With the discussion of Moses not being in the Hall of Fame, which current players are most deserving of being a Hall of Famer?
I will nominate Ralph Sampson

Re: Current HOF Players
Oh I found the post where the developer says a player needs 25,000 HOF points to make it.
So, just out of curiosity, what are the HOF points of some of the top old players? Like Scott, Sampson, Magic, Schmidt.

Re: Current HOF Players
Took a look at some players and picked out some I figured would make it. And then added Kenny Smith as potentially since his resume is pretty good so far with that MVP.
Sure-fire actives:
Magic Johnson (15 seasons):
3 Rings, 1x MVP, 2x Playoff (Finals?) MVP, 13x All-League, 7x All-Defense
#5 points, #1 assists, #1 steals
Hakeem Olajuwon (11 seasons):
0 Rings, 2x DPOTY, 8x All-League, 6x All-Defense
#11 Points, #13 Rebounds, #2 Blocks
Ralph Sampson (12 seasons):
5 Rings, 2x MVP, 3x Playoff MVP, 7x All-League, 4x All-Defense
#10 Points, #5 Rebounds, #3 Blocks
Oscar Schmidt (14 seasons):
3 Rings, 1x Playoff MVP, 8x All-League, 1x All-Defense
#4 Points, #17 Rebounds, #5 Steals, Crazy 1.4 TOPG career average.
Isiah Thomas (14 seasons):
x5 All-League, x9 All-Defense
#13 Points, #2 Assists, #2 Steals
Michael Jordan (11 seasons):
1 Ring, 7x All-League, 3x All-Defense
#3 Points, #7 Steals
David Robinson (8 seasons):
0 Rings, 2x MVP, 2x DPOTY, x5 All-League, 3x All-Defense
#38 Points, #42 Rebounds, #5 Blocks
Sure-fire retired
Moses Malone (11 seasons)
1 Ring, 8x MVP, 1x Playoff MVP, x11 All-League

Joe Barry Carroll (15 seasons):

Potentially:
Kenny Smith (8 seasons):
1x MVP, 5x All-League
#72 points, #14 Assists, #30 Steals

Re: Current HOF Players
3 shoe-ins right now: Magic, Sampson, Schmidt
DRobinson is headed there, don't know if he's there yet.
Scott doesn't make it for me.
Kellogg no.
Olajuwon don't think so.
Drazen no.
Michael Jordan likely
Mitchell Jordan no
Retired players that should be in: Moses, JBCarroll?, can't remember who else if any
Maybe I'll do a very simple article that we vote on every year for HOF and we just keep it outside of the developers hands.

Re: Current HOF Players
Barkley could have a solid case as well.
Charles Barkley (11 seasons)
0 Rings, 1x DPOTY, 7x All-League, 7x All-Defense
#46 points, #7 Rebounds, #6 Blocks
Obviously the points hurt him, but snagging a DPOTY as well as a very high count of team awards could sneak him in.

Yeah it'd be kinda fun to just have a vote within the 'Retirements' thread each season, no?

Also I strongly disagree with Isiah Thomas being a sure-fire HOFer

Would love to know what Moses ended up on, he was the EIGHT TIME MVP... Most in the NBA is 6x by Kareem. The Bean Regime wrote:lmao hot damn what do you need for 25k.Oregon Ownage wrote:Magic Johnson - 21,085The Bean Regime wrote:Oh I found the post where the developer says a player needs 25,000 HOF points to make it.

Re: Current HOF Players
Why? at worst top 2 defensive guard, potentially the 1st player to hit 10 all-defense awards (Can't say for certain since I never pulled the data, but seems likely) while most seasons being a great PG offensively.Craig wrote:Also I strongly disagree with Isiah Thomas being a sure-fire HOFer
And put Dr. J in
For comparison, career averages (PPG, APG, SPG, TOPG)
Magic: 19.4/8.6/2.8/3.8
Brogan: 14.8/7.1/1.9/2.1
K. Smith: 17.0/8.3/2.3/3.0
K. Johnson: 16.4/9.6/2.2/3.5
M. Jordan: 14.6/6.5/2.0/2.5
Thomas: 16.3/7.9/2.7/3.7
And I wish I had Dr. J's stats. One of the notable missing guys.

Re: Current HOF Players
Wonder what the function for points is, and whether rings > mvps > stats or something
