Feel like I'm overpaying on value, but Davis and DeAndre just wasn't working, and hasn't for several seasons, I've shopped him before and struggled to find a good return. Felt Favors had a better chance to fit as the 2nd big, and his age and potential mean he could still have more improvement coming.

Why do the Rockets get the best player AND a pick?

Favors is the best player. DeAndre is really pretty terrible for your offense in DASL. Favors has a career FG% 40 points higher, his FT% is over 100 points higher he's also a much better passer, they're similar rebounders. Add in that he's younger, more potential and has a better contract and he's significantly more valuable. DeAndre's defense is really good, but Favors is a good defender, so it doesn't come close to offsetting the huge offensive gap.

Thats how I viewed it too. Jordans percentages are terrible. Granted he is a great rebounder and shot blocker but those percentages are really really bad.
