With everyone tanking this year it would be funny if everyone decided to stay in school.

Rising Star in Georgia:

The man they call Starberry has been rising quickly in the ACC. While Timmy over at Wake has been stealing all the headlines and North Carolina and Duke fighting out for number one seeds, a young point guard down in Georgia has been doing his best to steal the conference's headlines. The kid out of inner-city Brooklyn, NY, NY has been a scoring machine putting in nearly twenty points per game. In addition he has been giving even the top PGs in the league fits with his ability on the offensive boards, getting at least two per game so far this season. The rumors are that he is very closely eyeing, other freshman studs like Kevin Garnett to see how the draft shapes up.

Other rumors/notes:
Derek Fisher, PG, Little-Rock: The small school prospect has exploded onto the scene as he has led his small school onto the edge of the top 25 and an undefeated season. The senior has emerged after some relative pedestrian three season. One to watch, but concerns he may be a flash in the pan.
Martin Muursepp, F/C, Estonia SSR: This forward has taken his relatively obscure Tallinna Ulikool who only qualified for the top level of FIBA last season. He has his side playing their way into Continental Competition, which would be a first for the small side. Tiit Sokk of the Knicks came out and lauded him saying he was a credit to his nation and looked forward to the possibility of playing with him next season.
Priest Lauderdale, C, USA: The enormous young center out of Chicago attended Central State University in Ohio before taking his talents to the south beaches of Athens, Greece. the 7'4" center has played for the Greek side for the past two seasons averaging 18/10 with almost three blocks per game. With his contract having a very small buyout that even a poor agent could afford, the equivalent of a college junior could be looking to try his hand at the nba

Devil Went Down to Georgetown:

The Hoyas of Georgetown have been the best team in the nation. Anchored by one of the top Centers in the college ranks and also by their prolific sophomore point guard Allen Iverson. He is already one of the top scorers in the nation and also has one of the smoothest looking mid-range jumpers in the game. Even though he is very slight and a generous six feet in heels, he is extremely adept at finding his way to the rim and playing well above it with ease. The big news was he let slip in a post-game interview after trouncing St. Johns that he was ready to take the next level by storm. He later apologized and added that nothing was final and that he would dedicated to the university and solely focused on....[insert coach speak here]. To be sure this has fired up the scouts who love what the young guard brings and looking forward to getting a full workup on him at the combine.

Other Rumor/Notes:
Kobe Bryant, G, Lower Marion High School:
Bryant has been officially accepted into the AC Milan Football and Basketball Academies. He will be attending it and be playing professionally for both sides. He signed a provisional two year contract with optional club extension of two years provided AC Milan avoid relegation in addition to ten appearances and a foreign release clause of 775,000,000 Lira. He received a loyalty clause of almost 1.5 million Lira. Another note on this news is that Kobe's father received a five year extension to his assistant head coaching contract with the AC Milan FIBA affiliate the day after his son's contract was signed.
Marcus Camby, C, UMass:
We have learned more about the issues surrounding Marcus Camby. He has been officially barred from NCAA competition for life for gross violations of his amateurism. A reported $28,000 was recieved by Camby from a pair of Agents.
Steven Jackson, G/F, Oak Hill Academy
Another bit of HS news today as Steven Jackson has failed his last try to get his grades up in time to apply to either Houston, Rice, or Sam Houston State (his top three choices). He is thought to be mulling his options and may opt to attend a local Community college or maybe even declare for the draft depending on how the situation develops.
