In a surprising move, Vin Lananna is leaving Eugene to take on associate athletic and head cross country coach duties at Virginia. Seems his marginalization within the TrackTown USA and USATF plus his missing of coaching led him to take the jobs. He'll be missed in the Eugene community.

If he wanted to get back into coaching, seems like they could have made room for him somewhere at UO. I am disappointed to see him go.

Lananna really did incredible things for the UO, Eugene and track and field during his time at Oregon. It was a truly fabulous hire. Hopefully things will continue in the right direction in his absence.
