Looking back at 5 years of the draft

Post by DrBradBuss »

2023 Draft
1. Orlando Magic | Isaiah Todd SF 6'10'' 227 21 B B- C B C+ A
Current Attributes: B B+ C B+ C+ B
Current Team/Contract: Magic / 2nd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 34.6 PPG: 24.0 RPG: 6.3 APG: 2.2 SPG 1.6 BPG 0.2
Current Year Stats: MPG: 36.3 PPG: 20.4 RPG: 7.2 APG: 2.5 SPG 0.9 BPG 0.2
Notes: Isaiah was a participant in the All-Star Rookie Game and named Rookie of the year for 2023. The 2023 draft hasn’t had a lot of time to play out and players improve, but Isaiah looks like a solid pick at #1.

2. Portland Trailblazers | James Wiseman C 6'11'' 232 22 B C- C A- C+ A
Current Attributes: B+ C- C B+ B+ B
Current Team/Contract: Blazers / 2nd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 31.0 PPG: 10.1 RPG: 9.4 APG: 2.4 SPG: 0.9 BPG: 1.9
Current Year Stats: MPG: 29.7 PPG: 10.8 RPG: 10.1 APG: 1.3 SPG: 1.0 BPG 1.6
Notes: James was a participant in the All-Star Rookie Game and named to the All-Rookie 1st Team

3. Charlotte Hornets | Scottie Lewis SG 6'5'' 195 22 B- B- C B- D+ A
Current Attributes: B B+ C+ B D+ A
Current Team/Contract: Hornets / 2nd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 31.6 PPG: 19.2 RPG: 4.5 APG: 2.5 SPG: 1.4 BPG: 0.5
Current Year Stats: MPG: 30.9 PPG: 17.1 RPG: 3.4 APG: 2.15 SPG: 1.4 BPG: 0.4
Notes: Scottie was a participant in the All-Star Rookie Game and named to the All-Rookie 1st Team.

4. Los Angeles Clippers | Vernon Carey Jr. PF 6'10'' 275 22 B C- C- B- B+ A
Current Attributes: B+ C- C- A- B+ B
Current Team/Contract: Clippers / 2nd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 30.3 PPG: 11.0 RPG: 9.0 APG: 1.4 SPG: 0.7 BPG: 1.2
Current Year Stats: MPG: 32.9 PPG: 13.1 RPG: 10.1 APG: 1.3 SPG: 0.8 BPG: 1.1
Notes: Vernon was a participant in the All-Star Rookie Game and named to the All-Rookie 1st Team.

5. Charlotte Hornets | Precious Achiuwa SF 6'7'' 197 23 B- C C B+ C B
Current Attributes: B- C+ C A- C+ B
Current Team/Contract: Hornets / 2nd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 17.3 PPG: 3.9 RPG: 3.6 APG: 1.1 SPG 0.8 BPG 0.3
Current Year Stats: MPG: 24.7 PPG: 8.5 RPG: 5.2 APG: 1.5 SPG: 1.2 BPG: 0.0
Notes: Precious has had a rough start to his DASL career. He did not make either rookie teams and did not participate in the Rookie-Soph game.

Other Lottery (1-11) Picks: Amari Bailey, Alonzo Gaffney, Carson McCorkle, Jalen Duren, Jalen Williams, Chol Marial

2022 Draft
1. Portland Trailblazers | Kyree Walker SG 6'5'' 197 21 C A- C- B C A
Current Attributes: B A C- A- C A
Current Team/Contract: Blazers / 3rd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 23.7 PPG: 12.3 RPG: 3.4 APG: 1.6 SPG 1.4 BPG 0.1
Current Year Stats: MPG: 39.5 PPG 36.7 RPG: 7.2 APG: 1.5 SPG 2.4 BPG 0.1
Notes: Kyree was a participant in the All-Star Rookie Game. Few have made a mark on the game in the 3rd year as much as Kyree has. He’s the league’s leading scorer and while some may be quick to point to a low assist total, his shooting percentages go to show why the ball should be in his hands. There’s no doubt the future is bright for this young superstar. Kyree was the proper pick at #1 in 2022.

2. Houston Rockets | Greg Brown SF 6'7'' 220 20 B C C B+ C+ A
Current Attributes: B C+ C A- C+ B
Current Team/Contract: Rockets / 3rd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 24.4 PPG: 8.3 RPG: 7.0 APG: 1.3 SPG 0.9 BPG 0.5
Current Year Stats: MPG: 13.5 PPG: 4.4 RPG: 3.2 APG: 0.8 SPG: 0.9 BPG 0.1
Notes: Greg was a participant in the All-Star Rookie Game and named to the All-Rookie 2nd Team. Greg has seen his role in Houston fall off during his 3rd year playing behind Nassir Little at the SF position. While a little too early to call Brown a bust, it’s apparent that the 2022 draft was not a super strong one. There might have been better options at #2 though.

3. Seattle SuperSonics | Luguentz Dort SF 6'5'' 205 23 B- B C B- C B
Current Attributes: B- A- C B+ C C
Current Team/Contract: Warriors / 3rd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 29.8 PPG: 12.2 RPG: 4.7 APG: 2.5 SPG 1.1 BPG 0.3
Current Year Stats: MPG: 28.4 PPG: 13.1 RPG: 4.3 APG: 2.1 SPG 1.1 BPG 0.4
Notes: Dort was a 2022 Rookie-Soph game participant and made 1st team Rookie team that year. Dort is one of a very few that was traded early in his career more than one time. After being drafted by Seattle was moved to Vancouver as part of deal bringing Cory Joseph and Nerlens Noel to Seattle. He was then used by the Grizzlies to help land Brandon Ingram from Golden State. League GM’s must see a lot of potential in Dort to be used in trades attracting names like Noel, Joseph, and Ingram. He’s playing backup minutes at the SG and SF positions right now. He’s old for a 3rd year player in the league. Will he break out soon?

4. Boston Celtics | Goga Bitadze C 6'11'' 256 22 B- C- C- C+ B- A
Current Attributes: B+ C C- A- A- B
Current Team/Contract: Celtics / 3rd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 29.6 PPG: 9.3 RPG: 9.7 APG: 1.6 SPG 0.8 BPG 0.9
Current Year Stats: MPG: 28.4 PPG: 12.9 RPG: 9.9 APG: 1.2 SPG 0.7 BPG 1.5
Notes: Goga was named to the 2022 All-Rookie 2nd Team and 2023 Rookie v. Soph game. Skilled big men are at a premium in DASL, so you’ll often find one or two drafted very high in the lottery. Goga has improved defensively over the 1st 3 years in the league. His BPG have improved by about 75% on adjusted full-game basis and PPG by about 40%, both impressive numbers. To be anything other than average long-term he’ll need to continue to improve offensively and the potential is still there after only 3 years.

5. New Jersey Nets | Lukas Kisunas C 6'9'' 235 22 C+ C- C B- B- A
Current Attributes: B- C- C+ B+ A- B
Current Team/Contract: Nets / 3rd Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 32.5 PPG: 8.9 RPG: 9.6 APG: 2.0 SPG 1.0 BPG 1.4
Current Year Stats: 29.6 PPG: 10.2 RPG: 9.0 APG: 2.1 SPG 0.7 BPG 2.4
Notes: Lukas was a participant in the 2022 All-Star Rookie Game, named to the 2022 All-Rookie 1st team, and named MVP of 2023 Rookie-Soph game. Another interesting big man prospect that has improved defensively before the offense has caught up. Lukas is a good all-around prospect that shoots well and moves well, but was raw coming into the league. As the starting center on a perennial Eastern Conference power, a lot rides on his shoulders.

Other Lottery (1-11) Picks: Kostas Antetokounmpo, Javonte Smart, Miles Norris, Kostja Mushidi, Payton Pritchard, Noah Kirkwood

2021 Draft
1. Miami Heat | LaMelo Ball SG 6'4'' 193 19 B+ B- C B C- A
Current Attributes: B A C A+ C A
Current Team/Contract: Grizzlies / 4th Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 36.4 PPG: 18.5 RPG: 5.5 APG: 3.4 SPG 2.3 BPG 0.3
Current Year Stats: MPG: 36.5 PPG: 27.2 RPG: 6.0 APG: 3.5 SPG 2.5 BPG 0.0
Notes: LaMelo was a participant in the 2021 Rookie-Soph game, named 2021 1st team All-Rookie, 2023 All-Star, and 2023 1st team All-League. LaMelo ended up in Vancouver as part of a huge swap that took Thon Maker to Miami. At still only 22 and growing in skill and experience, LaMelo seems like he’ll be a force in the league for over a decade to come. His outside shot and defense have already improved to a point that most anyone watching him in high school never thought would come. Surely come this off-season he’ll be a hot commodity. Ball was the correct pick at #1.

2. Minnesota Timberwolves | Shareef O'Neal PF 6'10'' 235 21 B C C B- B- A
Current Attributes: A- C C A- B+ C
Current Team/Contract: Nuggets / 4th Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 28.1 PPG: 15.8 RPG: 8.9 APG: 2.5 SPG: 0.8 BPG: 1.5
Current Year Stats: MPG: 37.6 PPG: 20.6 RPG: 12.0 APG: 4.2 SPG: 0.6 BPG: 3.0
Notes: O’Neal has played in the Rookie-Soph game twice and was named MVP of that game in 2022 for the soph’s. Shaq’s son ends up in the Mile High city in exchange for Joel Embiid and has become a bit of a turnover machine, but more than makes up for it by rebounding and blocking shots like few others do. It’s tough being the son of an all-time great. There’s rumors throughout the league for Shareef to follow his dad’s footsteps and take up acting in Los Angeles. Phoenix would’ve targeted him next year to bring him home to Arizona where he went to school, but signed Marvin Bagley this year. Shareef may decide to make a name for himself and stay away from the bright lights and big city. It’s hard to say that a talent like this shouldn’t have been the #1 pick in 2021, but Ball was probably the better choice.

3. Atlanta Hawks | Ahmed Khalaf C 6'10'' 225 22 B- C D C+ B- A
Current Attributes: B- C D+ A- B+ C
Current Team/Contract: Hawks / 4th Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 24.0 PPG: 7.8 RPG: 7.8 APG: 0.9 SPG: 0.5 BPG: 0.9
Current Year Stats: MPG: 31.2 PPG: 12.3 RPG: 10.3 APG: 1.1 SPG: 0.9 BPG: 1.5
Notes: “Bebo” made 1st team All-Rookie team in 2021 and played in the 2021 & 2022 Rookie-Soph games. While Ahmed appears to not be a monster offensively, and probably never will be, he has improved tremendously on the defensive side of the ball. In his first year as a full-time starter, he’s averaging a double-double playing somewhat out of position at PF. If he likes that well enough he may be a part of Atlanta’s own twin towers next to DeAndre Ayton. If he decides that center is his true love, expect him to fly away next off-season. In a re-draft he’s not likely a #3 pick, but he’s not that much lower.

4. Houston Rockets | Nassir Little SF 6'6'' 228 21 B B+ C B+ C- B
Current Attributes: B+ A- C+ A C B
Current Team/Contract: Rockets / 4th Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 23.5 PPG: 13.2 RPG: 3.3 APG: 1.5 SPG: 1.2 BPG: 0.5
Current Year Stats: MPG: 34.8 PPG: 19.4 RPG: 5.3 APG: 2.6 SPG: 2.4 BPG: 0.8
Notes: Things may never be better for Nassir Little as they were during the first few years in Houston. He had no pressure to be “the guy” playing next to Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Karl-Anthony Towns. Even with those stars though, Nassir has felt the pressure of losing as Houston has underperformed since Nassir’s arrival. The rest of the group is slowly aging out of star roles so Nassir will have to step up. Nassir also was hurt a couple years ago as the Rockets GM drafted the #2 overall player at the SF position, something that still gets at Nassir’s nerves. He loves the city and the fans and the opportunity to lead this team into the future, but will that slight by management forever eat away at this relationship?

5. Seattle SuperSonics | Darius Garland PG 6'2'' 182 21 C B- B C+ C- A
Current Attributes: C A- A- B+ C B
Current Team/Contract: Grizzlies / 4th Year of Rookie Contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 23.0 PPG: 8.9 RPG: 2.9 APG: 5.0 SPG: 0.8 BPG: 0.3
Current Year Stats: MPG: 9.2 PPG: 4.2 RPG: 1.1 APG: 2.4 SPG: 0.4 BPG: 0.2
Notes: Darius was named to 1st team All-Rookie in 2021 and participated in that year’s Rookie-Soph game. Darius was a starter in Vancouver the last two years and has shown great potential as a team leader. This year however, future HOF’er John Wall has joined the team and Darius is relegated to bench warmer. This can’t make him happy in a contract year, but should be ready should the chance arise Wall goes down. Look for Darius to sign a big FA deal at the end of this year, maybe in a new arena. Given Darius’ current ratings and DASL being a PG league, Darius probably deserved a #3 or #4 draft spot, but no higher.

Other Lottery (1-11) Picks: Jordan Brown, Lynn Greer III, Aaron Wiggins, Anfernee Simons, Charles Bassey, Louis King

2020 Draft
1. Seattle SuperSonics | Marvin Bagley PF 6'11'' 225 21 B+ C+ C- B C+ A
Current Attributes: B+ B_ C A A- C
Current Team/Contract: Suns / 1st year of 6 year, $75.0 million
1st Year Stats: MPG: 32.9 PPG: 23.3 RPG: 9.5 APG: 2.3 SPG: 1.1 BPG: 1.5
Current Year Stats: MPG: 36.9 PPG: 30.4 RPG: 12.5 APG: 3.8 SPG: 1.7 BPG: 1.9
Notes: Bagley is a rare breed that can put stats on every line of the sheet. The Duke product and 2020 Rookie of the year, in just 4 years has been to 3 All-Star games and 2 Rookie-Soph games and been named All-League First team in 2022. Bagley has missed only 2 games in 4 years due to injury and just signed a large contract that will keep him in Phoenix for the next 6 years. This years draft was a tough one to say who should’ve been #1, but any of Bagley, Barrett, or Bol and you should be pretty happy.

2. Boston Celtics | RJ Barrett SF 6'6'' 205 20 C+ B- C B+ C- A
Current Attributes: B+ A B A C B
Current Team/Contract: Celtics / 1st year of 6 year, $75.0 million
1st Year Stats: MPG: 28.2 PPG: 6.8 RPG: 3.8 APG: 1.9 SPG: 1.0 BPG: 0.6
Current Year Stats: MPG: 37.9 PPG: 26.1 RPG: 6.2 APG: 4.9 SPG: 2.1 BPG: 0.7
Notes: Barrett was a participant in the 2020 Rookie-Soph game and named 2nd team All-Rookie that year. In all honesty, Celtics brass had to be worried after one and even two years of RJ’s stint in Boston. Despite logging heavy minutes his 1st two years, RJ was slow to pick up the DASL game. This left a lot in Boston thinking Bol Bol should’ve been the choice at #2. But truth be told, Barrett probably just needed some time adjusting to the style of play in the U.S. after playing most of his youth with the Canadian Olympic squads. Barrett is one of the best young all-around players in the DASL and a likely All-League 1st team is in his not-to-distant future.

3. Cleveland Cavaliers | Bol Bol C 7'2'' 235 20 B- C- C- A- C+ A
Current Attributes: A- C+ C- A+ A- B
Current Team/Contract: Cavaliers / 1st year of 7 year $96.25 million
1st Year Stats: MPG: 31.0 PPG: 8.0 RPG: 9.7 APG: 1.6 SPG: 0.8 BPG: 2.4
Current Year Stats: MPG: 37.1 PPG: 22.0 RPG: 14.7 APG: 2.5 SPG: 1.1 BPG: 2.9
Notes: Bol was a part of 2020 and 2021 Rookie-Soph games. Bol was named to 1st team all-rookie team and was in last years all-star game. Bol has gotten a little better every year in the league. To some, he’s reminiscent of some of the best Centers the DASL has ever seen. He’s currently the leagues leading rebounder and in the top 10 in blocked shots. Some scouts think he’ll get even better and at only 24, Bol’s proven he was worthy of a top pick in the 2020 draft.

4. Portland Trailblazers | Zion Williamson SF 6'7'' 250 19 C+ C+ C C+ C A
Current Attributes: B A- C+ B C+ A
Current Team/Contract: Blazers / 1st year of 6 year, $75 million
1st Year Stats: MPG: 17.3 PPG: 5.0 RPG: 3.6 APG: 1.4 SPG: 0.5 BPG: 0.1
Current Year Stats: MPG: 32.3 PPG: 18.5 RPG: 6.9 APG: 3.5 SPG: 1.0 BPG: 0.4
Notes: Zion is an athletic freak that made himself a youTube sensation in high school and entered the DASL at a very young age. Even though he’s been in the league 4 full years, he’s still only 23 years old. He plays second fiddle to Kyree Walker in Portland right now, but they complement each other well. While Zion is yet to achieve any DASL accomplishments such as all-star games, it’s only a matter of time. #4 seems about right for this player.

5. Toronto Raptors | Cameron Reddish SG 6'5'' 209 20 C+ B+ C C+ D+ A
Current Attributes: C+ A B- B C- C
Current Team/Contract: Grizzlies / 1st year of 4 year-$21.4 million contract
1st Year Stats: MPG: 27.7 PPG: 12.5 RPG: 3.4 APG: 2.5 SPG: 1.7 BPG: 0.3
Current Year Stats: MPG: 20.9 PPG: 8.9 RPG: 2.3 APG: 3.0 SPG: 0.7 BPG: 0.1
Notes: Cameron has participated in both 2020 & 2021 All-Star Rookie-Soph games while being named 2020 1st team All-Rookie. Cameron chose to re-sign with Vancouver in the off-season for a seemingly discounted deal despite playing on the same team with two perennial all-league players in Brandon Ingram and LaMelo Ball. Cameron seems to have starter qualities as shown by his improvement both on his outside jumper and his defense, but maybe lacks that killer instinct of wanting to play all the time. At 24, there’s still time for Cameron to find starters minutes on another team, he’s openly being shopped, but does Granville Island hold too much appeal for Cameron and his family to want to move. Other options later in the draft might have been better here – Musa, Shittu, Gilgeous-Alexander to name a few.

Other Lottery (1-11) Picks: Malik Williams, Dzanan Musa, Simi Shittu, Lamar Peters, Ikechukwu Obiagu, Nick Weatherspoon

2019 Draft
1. San Antonio Spurs | Michael Porter SF 6'10'' 215 20 B B+ C B C A
Current Attributes: B A- C A C+ C
Current Team/Contract: Spurs / 2nd year of 6 year, $75 million
1st Year Stats: MPG: 30.7 PPG: 19.1 RPG: 5.1 APG: 3.4 SPG: 1.3 BPG: 0.6
Current Year Stats: MPG: 39.8 PPG: 25.7 RPG: 7.5 APG: 3.1 SPG: 2.3 BPG: 0.6
Notes: Porter participated in the 2019 and 2020 Rookie-Soph All-Star games and was named 1st team All-Rookie. Since being drafted #1 overall in 2019 Porter has had a spot in the starting lineup and been rather durable. At 6’10’ and playing at the SF position, Porter would seem to have all the physical ability to dominate the position. While his scoring has always been above average, the rebounding and blocked shots don’t seem to be what they should. Perhaps that’s why he has no all-league or all-star selections to this point. His 6th year in the league and still only 25, he’s got plenty of time to continue to improve. But if we were redrafting today, I’d have to make him my #2 pick behind, DeAndre Ayton.

2. Atlanta Hawks | DeAndre Ayton C 7'0'' 250 20 C+ C C B- B A
Current Attributes: B+ C C A A D
Current Team/Contract: Hawks / 2nd year of 6 year, $75 million
1st Year Stats: MPG: 29.3 PPG: 6.8 RPG: 9.0 APG: 1.5 SPG: 1.2 BPG: 0.5
Current Year Stats: MPG: 36.1 PPG: 20.2 RPG: 14.2 APG: 2.4 SPG: 1.2 BPG: 1.6
Notes: Ayton was a participant in the 2019 Rookie-Soph game and named to 2nd team All-Rookie. He made his 1st All-Star game in 2021 while averaging a double-double and again in 2022. 2021 was his 1st All-League appearance on the 3rd team and improved to 2nd team in 2022. One logically could’ve expected him to appear as an all-star or all-league player again in 2023, but his growth seems to have topped out at least temporarily. DeAndre’s two weaknesses appear to be his FG% and lack of blocked shots. He’s one of, if not the best rebounder in the league. His scoring is solid while not spectacular. But there is pretty solid depth at the Center position right now in the league, so sometimes people might forget about him. I think given these weaknesses he still would’ve been my #1 in a re-draft, but others might not agree.

3. Chicago Bulls | Collin Sexton PG 6'2'' 185 20 B- C+ B+ B- D+ A
Current Attributes: B- B+ A- B D+ B
Current Team/Contract: Bulls / 2nd year of 6 year, $60.1 million
1st Year Stats: MPG: 34.3 PPG: 21.2 RPG: 3.9 APG: 7.6 SPG: 2.1 BPG: 0.2
Current Year Stats: MPG: 34.2 PPG: 15.0 RPG: 3.5 APG: 7.9 SPG: 2.6 BPG: 0.2
Notes: The 2019 Rookie of the Year and 1st team All-Rookie selection is having a solid career. Collin stepped into a difficult situation in 2019 and took over the reigns for a horrible Bulls team that would also draft Luka Doncic at #5 in the same years draft. Because of that he played a lot of minutes and was a big focus of the Bulls offense and turned that into the Rookie of the Year award. However, since then, Collin has struggled to find his place in a PG strong league. Against the likes of John Wall, Dante Exum, Steph Curry, where does he fit? The answer is probably middle of the pack. Collin has always been pretty good not turning the ball over and his defense has improved to slightly above average, but he doesn’t seem like a guy that’s going to take a game over and put the team on his back. Again, still young, with potential to get better. Probably a good pick at #3 because the PG need is so great, but his teammate drafted at #5 is a better player.

4. New York Knicks | Mohamed Bamba C 7'0'' 215 21 C+ D C B B A
Current Attributes: B D+ C- A- A- C
Current Team/Contract: Pacers / 2nd year of 4 year $23.7 million
1st Year Stats: MPG: 17.9 PPG: 5.0 RPG: 5.6 APG: 1.2 SPG: 0.5 BPG: 1.2
Current Year Stats: MPG: 32.9 PPG: 11.2 RPG: 12.4 APG: 1.9 SPG: 1.1 BPG: 3.7
Notes: Mo played in the 2020 Rookie-Soph game as a soph and has no other awards to date. Mo is a top shot-blocker in the league and certainly every team needs one of those. He’s solid on the boards, but still not a top-10 guy. Looking at his career stats, it’s possible Mo has topped out where he is. There’s something to be said about having a guy like this on your roster as long as you don’t overvalue him and expect more than what he is capable of giving. His salary demands are minimal and likely his biggest attribute to any team. He might make an all-league defensive team, but not likely all-league or all-star. So was he worth the #4 pick? Probably not. Doncic, Gary Trent Jr., and a few others might have been better. However, a lottery pick for sure.

5. Chicago Bulls (from Cavaliers) | Luka Doncic SG 6'7'' 220 20 C+ A- C B- C- A
Current Attributes: C+ A C+ A- C- B
Current Team/Contract: Bulls / 2nd year of 6 year, $75 million
1st Year Stats: MPG: 33.9 PPG: 21.3 RPG: 4.8 APG: 3.9 SPG: 1.7 BPG: 0.2
Current Year Stats: MPG: 34.5 PPG: 17.4 RPG: 5.2 APG: 3.7 SPG: 2.2 BPG: 0.3
Notes: Doncic was participant in 2019 and 2020 Rookie-Soph All-Star games and MVP as a Soph. He was 1st team All-Rookie in 2019 and could’ve easily won Rookie of the Year. He’s been in the last 3 All-Star games, All-League teams in 2022 and 2023, All-League defensive teams in 2022 and 2023, and throw in a 3-pt Shooting winner at an All-Star game. He combines some of the best shooting in the league with some of the best man to man defense at his position. If there’s one weakness to his game, it’s rebounding. But at the SG position, we can forgive this a little bit. His scoring is down this year, but something is happening in Chicago to keep scoring down for everyone. It’s possible we see big changes this upcoming off-season for this Chicago team.

Other Lottery (1-11) Picks: Gary Trent Jr., Robert Williams, Kevin Knox, Jaren Jackson Jr., Brandon McCoy, Troy Brown

I was absolutely ready to write off Precious already (yeah, I know, give the man time), but he's impressed me in the preseason and the regular season so far. Should be a decent SF though it's not the highest ceiling ever and a surefire disappointment for a #5 overall.

Damn 2020 was top heavy, though lacking in depth.

Nice to see how the drafts pan out. When I looked into them all when I did the Ingram trade, top 5 seemed like favourable odds for a star (note: not superstar, though those are included in the odds) player (like a 70/30 split). Recently, it looks like centers have had a hard time developing go-to scoring games. Out of the 7, only two have really developed enough to be an option in a successful offense (though a few more have the foundation in place).

Yeah, thing was that draft was 4 players then.... just a mess of could be guys, I desperately tried to get to turn 5 into a second top 4 pick and couldn't.
Overall though Precious was buried year 1, but this year he's been a contributor as a non-option. He's a good wing defender, and has the potential to become a solid starter, if unlikely to be a star.

Interesting thing is the back to back 7th picks on my bench at PG both had big training camps, and really deserve more minutes, but with Smith and Lewis at the guard spots, and all 4 of them too small to really play the 3, they're underutilized.
