unveiling the carbon fiber helmet/uniforms? I didn't make it to any games last year, but didnt see these things on tv.

Im pretty sure I heard last year that they were having some trouble with the paint durability of the helmets and thats why they weren't used... hopefully they'll get the problem resolved because those babies are sweet.

I heard in Knoxville on sept 11th. At least I hope so. haha

I agree Tennessee seems logical, but maybe they save them for the trip down to LA for the Trojans. Toss up on which area you want to make the splash with. LA and all the Cali recruits, or hit the hotbed of the south and show up the SEC tradition.

I would go with LA you consistently will get more recruits to committ and play in Oregon from California than further away in the eastern time zone.

From what I heard last year, they weren't ready until sometime in October and then they had some issues with using them in colder temperatures.

Hopefully we'll see them in Tenn.

Yeah, there was an article in the Register Guard with Casey Martin about it. He said they were ready for the USC game, but Kelly didn't want to use them. After that, it was too cold to use them.

While I really want to see these as well, I hope sehyo traditional in Tennessee. As little PAC 10 exposure as we get in SEC country, I think it would be better for us to project our brand colors. This helps others recognize us in the future. Especially those not as familiar with th program.
This is a good reason for the wings. It brings an identity to all of our different combos and ties them together so people can recognize the brand.

Cant argue with that reasoning... We will have to wear "white" since we're on the road. I like the all whites with green lid (09 stanford) or the white top/black pants/black lid combo (09 az).

Was just sayin Knoxville since I will be there and no home games this year. Dont care what they wear I just wanna see em kick some UT butt

That last combo is the one we wore for the UW game this past year. The AZ game we wore green helmet/white jersey/black pants.

I knew that... we had GREEN lids for the AZ game, my bad. Uniform nerds rule.

I can remember just about every uniform combo from the last year and most of the ones from 2008. That definitely makes me a uniform nerd, but I'm proud of it.

Not sure when they plan on wearing them but the new video of the locker room tour with Barner, he pulls one out of the locker as a surprise for everyone. The lid looks RAD!

When they do wear them, I vote for Carbon, white, carbon and white(not the white and green jersey). Especially if the numbers are yellow like somebody was saying in a different thread-fast look to them. See for yourself.
