National Signing Day Dinner with Taggart & Co

Is this a common thing that college programs do? I have no idea since Oregon NSD's have been low key in the past. If not, looks like Taggart is taking a page out of Harbaugh's book by making NSD a big celebratory event. Pleases the Donors as well since Chip and Helfrich never really interacted with donors in person. Good stuff.

They used to be bigger under Bellotti but the emphasis on them started dropping under Chip, resulting in them usually only sending assistant coaches or athletic department people to the dinners.

Yea, we had two. One in Portland or Eugene and the other in Bend. Tag is making sure to get in touch with the donors.

They are a really big deal. There was 700 people last year in Portland.

I think Taggart is following Harbaughs lead, and trying to make signing day more of an event. Supposedly Neal Everett is going to be involved in announcing LOI during the day.

If you pay $2,500 you get an assistant coach at your table...

...if you pay $3,000 you get to drive said assistant coach home!

Too soon?

Wouldn't you get a discount for providing the taxi service?

But wouldn't you get a generous drunken tip?

It should be like a pizza delivery thing where you get the delivery charge (discount) and a nice tip.
