I think everyone expected this to happen but I understand why Taggert said it would be a competition even if it shouldn't be

First, thanks greenyellow for all the updates and content you've been posting lately. Second; holy cow look how much more information we are getting with the new coaching staff. Just giving the media a small taste of 30 minutes a day has been fantastic.

Yeah, Fentress noted today a brief history of UO QB transfers. It would seem there will be at least one QB that transfers after the spring depth chart is released. I get the 'open' competition, but Herbert was pretty impressive when he was thrown to the fire. Someone would really need to blow up to usurp his spot at this point. Or switch positions.
