I have no clue who Bob Sanders is. I just picked the most common name for a white accountant from the Midwest and coincidentally it's the same name as a 5'8 undersized former DPOY at the safety position. Imagine that.
Look at Nelson's impact in the 2015 season at safety and tell me he doesn't have a shot in the NFL. Imagine if he wasn't switching positions on an annual basis and had four years to hone his craft and train for just one position.

Nelson may have a shot in the NFL at a utility spot and/or special teams, practice squad but not at safety. With that said I would be surprised if gets drafted, unsigned free agent maybe.

The biggest hits usually come from the smallest players on the field because they are going faster. Arguing that Nelson couldn't add 15 pounds is stupid after Radcliffe intentionally kept the players undersized for speed and agility. Further, our defensive coaches were obviously out of touch with any basic concepts so again, from what I've seen from him on ST and his nose for the ball, if he does have a future in the league, it will be on the other side. He doesn't want to play defense though so its moot but speed as a DB is far more important than size, especially at Safety.

I would think Nelson's best chance in the NFL would have been as a Nickel Back+Special Teams Specialist. I think he has better defensive instincts than offensive.
Too late now but if he had stayed on defense last year to hone his coverage skills, he has the quicks and speed and hits hard for a Nickel. I wish they would have continued him as a two way player. Enough offensive plays to keep him happy and his defensive prowess would have helped last year.
