Burmeister Transferring?

Post by Phenom »

There's been rumor that a high profile freshman was going to be transferring. Could it be BB? Look at his most recent follows:

If so, we would need another QB in this class. Maybe a JUCO guy?

I think we could survive that happening.

Interesting, Ole Miss did just lose Shea Patterson who transferred to Michigan.

I think that would mean Burch would stay at QB.

I thought Cristobal said he doesn't want his QB running ("We want Justin upright and healthy."). Isn't Burch a Khalil Tate clone, so so passer but great runner?

At this point it would be a sheer numbers thing. Alie and BB out mean it's Herbert, Shough, Burch and a walk-on in the spring. When we started getting players to waver in their commitments I felt we might go the JC/Grad Transfer route. A grad transfer at QB who could be the #2 next year to RS Shough would be most ideal.

For BB, the move does allow him to sit a year and learn which he really needs.

I can't understand why a team P5 team would look at burmeister as an asset

I can. Stanford, UW, WSU and UCLA all found him incredibly valuable.

Yeah, Burmeister at least deserved some honorable mention consideration at their respective award banquets.

Give him a real coach who understands the passing game and I'm sure he'll progress. WT did him no favors.

With Herbert and not enough depth, keep him safe. With more depth and athletic QBs, run them. If Burmeister stayed, he's a decent ballhandler, he could run the Wildquack offense.

It's unfortunate he had to play when Allie got knocked out. A tough situation to be put in with very low odds of success and high odds of psychic bruising.

QB is such a visible position. Lenoir was equally or frankly more ineffective yet virtually everyone is understanding that the trials of a true freshmen DB can be meaningless to what he turns out to be. Too bad for BB.
