Summer workouts

Post by maxduck »

Any news, information, reports, rumors, hearsay or just plain gossip about the team and summer conditioning? Any freshmen who look like they will make an impact? Which returning players have made progress? Somebody must have heard something, share it.

Herbert at #14. Very impressive for a not so small QB.

And MJ Cunningham in the pack with the big OL??? Did they bulk him up to play DL?

Looks like DMitch has improved his high end speed.

Also DJ Johnson...Freak?!

Him & Niu haven't been training because of injuries.

Jelks at # 84 behind Scott at #78

Little bit of a surprise to me.

Super interesting, thanks for posting.

I've finished re-watching our games and one of my biggest impressions is that Herbert is super fast at times. There were a few times when he pulled down the ball and took off for the sidelines where he looks like the fastest player on the field. Wouldn't surprise me if he get a 4.6 40 time at the NFL combine.

I had no idea Haki Woods is that fast, I'm very impressed. Other guys in the top 15 we all probably expected to be there. Schooler was a HS track star. DJ Johnson we knew was a freak who also ran track. A little surprised to see Cyrus faster than Darrian Felix, loved Cyrus' TD catch in the spring game coming out of the backfield.

Keith Simms is our fastest LB, just ahead of Lana. Impressed with Cam McCormick's MPH, I was kind of harsh on him but he did have that ACL injury coming out of HS so I hope he's fully recovered and makes a difference for us this year. I wonder if Jelks is nursing an injury, because there's no way he's slower than Penei Sewell or Popo. As someone pointed out, Cunningham and Niu have been injured.

They updated the pictures, and it looks like weights, on the team roster: https://goducks.com/roster.aspx?roster= ... h=football In case you're curious, the team is back to polo shirts after last year's jacket and tie photos. The contest for best hair has a lot of strong contenders. The recruits who enrolled early now have pics, the summer arrivals still aren't listed yet.

Korbin Williams was a new name for me. 6'2 Wide receiver and third-fastest dude on the team?

He's a preferred walk-on from Central Catholic HS in Portland.
