Seeing Hines in the practice reports just never stops being funny.greenyellow wrote:How so? I'm not getting the joke.Duck07 wrote:I wonder if Rob appreciates how funny this is for us?greenyellow wrote:

Re: 2018 Fall Camp Updates
The link below was in a re-tweet by Moseley and I think it's a good read. It refers to Jelks as a "converted DE" and his practicing at OLB as a "position switch" rather than just an occasional role he'll play, which I hadn't understood before. The piece even suggests that the Ducks' LB corps might be one of the better ones in the country with Jelks now back there much of the time.
But who is the other DE (besides Faoliu) if Jelks isn't there? I'd like to think that the defensive coaches must feel reasonably good about the DL if they're moving Jelks.

If we're going off Camp tweets, the DL mentioned most besides Jelks and Scott seems to be Austin Faoliu and Sione Kava.

Failou, Fat Mac, Baker/Popo battle. I think Popo stepping up this fall has given them a little more flexibility there.Greenblood wrote:The link below was in a re-tweet by Moseley and I think it's a good read. FWIW, I think Jelks will still play plenty of DE, especially against spread teams and in 3rd down pass rush situations. However, we got our s*** pushed in by some of the power teams last year(Stanford, UW, Boise), but I like the idea of 3 big guys with Hollins/Jelks. We can probably give some "Bear" 5-2 looks out of that as well with Hollins/Jelks both as ends.

Re: 2018 Fall Camp Updates
Thanks 07 and Grant. And I just got this in an email reply from Moseley himself: " . . . Jelks is playing some OLB, but it's not exclusive. As Jalen himself said, he's still playing DE as well. Gary Baker is a guy who isn't getting mentioned enough on the line."
So sounds like GrantDuck is largely correct in in his assessment of the situation.

Re: 2018 Fall Camp Updates
Whoa, a lot of number changes.
Looks like Addison is definitely sticking at WR, and he and Spencer Webb can be on the field at the same time. Jevon Holland is sounding like our most immediate impact freshman along with Sewell, so if they're still handing out single digits based on effort and performance it sounds like he earned it.
The RB injuries are troubling. One of our worst position groups, we can't afford both CJ and Felix not being able to play.

Sounds like Lenoir is banged up. Kahlef Hailassie with the 1's today.
Hopefully short term.
Felix and Travis Dye back practicing today is good, hopefully CJ will be out there again soon as well.
