Serious observation.
Last 5 years a participant team in the national title game was either Nick saban or one of his assistants or dabo who played at Alabama.

I'm not a big Saban fan. But I do get whatTualatinDuck wrote:Exactly!duckfan22 wrote:And a good reason to give Mario a chanceTualatinDuck wrote:Last 5 years a participant team in the national title game was either Nick saban or one of his assistants or dabo who played at Alabama.
He's about. How he wins
He surrounds himself with great coaches who are also excellent recruiters.
Look at their teams. They have the depth no body else has. That's why Mario preaches depth. Saban isn't Mr personality but he has his player's attention and they end up in the NFL. And his assistants end up head coaches.

We sure about this stat? Who from the Oregon-Ohio State game is 2014-15 was a Saban disciple or Dabo? And 2013-14 was Jimbo and FSU vs Bible Thumper Malzahn and Auburn.
It holds very true for the last three years but not sure beyond that.

Didn't they say before the Championship game that Saban's former assistants are like 0-11 against him?

Since the 2010 game between, Alabama & Texas, the observation works except for, 2011, Oregon vs Auburn & 2015 Oregon vs Ohio State. Jimbo, 2014, FSU vs Auburn, was an assistant on Saban's staff at LSU in 2000. Fisher coached quarterbacks and was the offensive coordinator for one season at Cincinnati before joining Nick Saban's staff at LSU in 2000. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimbo_Fisher

And merg is correct, only the Oregon games have no saban or Alabama ties.

Just when are we starting the clock on this? We were a DAT block away from playing Notre Dame instead of Bama in 2013. Brian Kelly comes from the great Grand Valley State coaching tree.TualatinDuck wrote:They did.GrandpaDuck wrote:Didn't they say before the Championship game that Saban's former assistants are like 0-11 against him?
