Throckmorton at LT, Aiello at RT. Let's hope we stay healthy as I don't want to test MC's 8-9 deep on the OL statement at the beginning of the year. Communication on the OL this week is especially important.

Bad news! With luck we can stay healthy and push through. On the bright side I think the Huskies just lost any hope of little bro!

Damn, that is a big blow. My heart dropped reading that title.
The good news is Throckmorton and Aiello are both comfortable on the left side. Hell, Aiello would probably start for most Pac-12 teams.
It's not ideal, but this is something we can survive. Hope Penei heals well and doesn't try to rush back.

Yeah. As good as Sewell obviously is, that's one position group where we should be able to withstand an injury and still generally be OK.
This means that Sewell may be done for the rest of the regular season.
But I don't want to miss mentioning that I love this apparent new practice of the team of reporting how long a player will be out.

I'm very comfortable with Aiello coming in. I was expecting him to be the starter for the season. What it does, though, is make it so the Ducks are 1 injury away from experiencing a bigger dropoff, though.

Only good news about this is that Oregon has lots of depth along the OL.

Well based off yesterdays press conference, I thought it was interesting to hear Stephen Jones name brought up by Mario when he was talking about OL and being ready etc. It felt more like a coach throwing a guys name out to see how he does in practice perhaps but with Capra the 1st G off the bench, I wonder if Jones would be the 1st T off the bench now or its George Moore?StevensTechU wrote:I'm very comfortable with Aiello coming in. This. Sewell is a stud, but we should be alright.Greenblood wrote:Yeah. As good as Sewell obviously is, that's one position group where we should be able to withstand an injury and still generally be OK.

He is a big loss, not matter how you slice it. Penei is a mauler. Once he locks on you, its over. I can't believe that kid just turned 18. I think he started the year at 17. How is that even possible?
Next man up. This is where coaching shows.

Explains why his pops was so mad on the twitter. Sucks to loose him for so long but hopefully he takes his time and heals up properly.
