Any rumors or hints for LB coach?

Post by maxduck »

I know technically we are looking for a DC but somebody has to coach the LB's. Anything?

Wilson is the LB coach. They’re looking at Kevin Patrick and Lance Thompson as DE/OLB coaches according to JHop.

Very impressive resumes.

Both of those guys are very familiar with Cristobal. Patrick played at Miami with Mario while Thompson was at Alabama the same time as him.

Patrick sounds good to me. Multiple top 10 picks on his resume.

Very impressive resumes.
Sounds like we will be staying in the 34 as a base then.

Why would the assistant head coach at SC come to be a position coach again here?

My source just said Chip is officially back!
It will be announced at Autzen press conference tomorrow afternoon!

He's leaving anyway.

EDIT: And there are rumors he was fired for sleeping with a trainer.

From that thread, the rumor is he does this everywhere he goes. Here’s a quote:
“Pretty sure it was a recruit's mom at Bama.”
I guess he’s a closer?

Rumor is that it was with Blake Barnett’s mom.

He would definitely be a pass in my book, I hope Cristobal is not considering him! If he cannot keep it in his pants on the job he is a lawsuit waiting to happen and a very poor example to the players.

Oops. And I actually meant that I liked Patrick better.

Patrick coached up guys like Bradley Chubb and JPP as well as George Selvie who was very productive in college. NC State was arguably right up there with Clemson's D-Line the past few years. They were really good.

Agree, all rumor but a lot of red flags.

Kevin Patrick has a solid resume. Various quotes from a very complimentary Miami Herald piece last year

“It’s still unreal,” the gregarious, charismatic Patrick told the Miami Herald in April 2015 at the Hall of Fame ceremony.

He’s a high-energy, high-enthusiasm guy and really shows the kids that he cares about them. That, with his knowledge base and experience, makes him a great candidate.”

“He’s a very strong recruiter and he’s made a lot of friends along the way. The guy played the game, he’s still in great shape and when you meet him he’s just kind of infectious — an “I-wanna-kick-his-[butt] kind of guy.

I know nothing about the guy but to cast aspersions based on what is said on Reddit is somewhat presumptuous.

He would definitely be a pass in my book, I hope Cristobal is not considering him! If he cannot keep it in his pants on the job he is a lawsuit waiting to happen and a very poor example to the players.
