I remember before that Coach GC was having JStew train with a laser pointer. Tech sure has improved!rsbgduck wrote:Seen something a few years ago where Oregon uses Virtual Reality as a tool/training exercise in order to improve vision and seeing cutback lanes. So there should be an improvement each year with any back who has issues with vision. I want to say it was Lamike or KB who first used it.

one of Lmikes best qualities as a back was his vision. When watching gamesGrantDuck wrote:I remember before that Coach GC was having JStew train with a laser pointer. I don't see any of our running backs having an great vision or the ability to break tackles. LMJ could do both and he was fast in the open space. I am not sure what the problem is with the running backs, but they use to be one of our strengths. Not so much anymore. I don't think any of them are pro caliber backs.
In terms of Auburn I think they win by 10 or more The offense I have seen on the road from Oregon suggests this will not be close.

There’s always debate over who was the greatest back in Oregon history and we’ve been blessed with so many choices there’s no clear pick IMO...I loved watching Droughns’ scary combo of speed/power and his crazy cutback lanes but if I had to pick a guy on fourth and 2 I’d pick LMJ every time. He just knew how to run low. Like really low and squirt ahead to get the sticks. Lots of his runs were just him one on one in space and just running around, thru, over, or even under a guy to get there and we haven’t had that in awhile. Dye is the guy with the best vision and wiggle but he’s like a buck ten lol. I’m really curious what the backs will look like this year...

I have LMJ number one as well. He was truly special.
Of the bigger backs who’s the best: Royce, J-Stew, Drougns, Onterrio or LGB

That is a question that truly can't be answered in my opinion: Statistically Freeman is #1, but I've never had him #1 in a list. The best thing LGB did for Oregon was the punch because it opened the door for LMJ, but all Blount has done in the NFL is play important roles on Super Bowl winners. J Stew was Thunder @ Oregon and had a very good NFL career. My favorite of these RB's is Reuben Droughns, he was so fun to watch, size and speed, and I can't get Jerry Allen's, "Touchdown, Reuben Droughns!" out of my head.lukeyrid13 wrote:I have LMJ number one as well. Mo Morris is still underrated as an Oregon back and JJ is one of my all time favorite Oregon players.
LaMichael is #1 for me too though, with JStew #2.
Too bad Tyner was a headcase or that guy could have been top 5. Droughns was the best single season back I've seen at Oregon before his big leg injury.

I don’t think Tyner was a Headcase, he just wasn’t all that in to football.

Pre-Injury Droughns was like Royce/Stew size but hit the hole like he was shot out of a cannon. Was amazing.
