Just ordinary guy, making an extraordinary and selfless decision to put others before himself. A decision he made in a fraction of a second. Unless you’ve been in this type of situation you can only imagine the thoughts and images that flooded his mind. God bless and thank you Keanon Lowe not only are you a hero, you are an angel.
GO DUCKS!!!

To clarify, and not at all to take anything away from Keanon, it sounds like he was stopping a kid who was planning to commit suicide rather than shoot up the school. Still totally heroic for him to intervene.

Not to make this go off topic, but there’s still accidental shootings all the time. Plus, who’s to say he doesn’t get freaked and start shooting out of nervousness etc. Even if he was only suicidal, he was purposely at the school which means that thought at least crossed his mind; it wasn’t solely about his own life.Tray Dub wrote:To clarify, and not at all to take anything away from Keanon, it sounds like he was stopping a kid who was planning to commit suicide rather than shoot up the school. I'm sorry, I'm amazed at what Keanon did and very proud of his actions but Canzano calling him a hero prior to yesterday for taking a HS Coaching job is absurd and demeans what he actually did. Calling everything heroism means that nothing is heroic and yesterday Keanon did something very heroic by putting himself in that situation. Lately we've sadly seen others like Kendrick Castillo also make those heroic decisions in a split second. Don't demean it by trying to label everything as a heroic act.TualatinDuck wrote:Posted this on scoopduck, really hate to link it but damn if the clown doesn't have a point this time.

Say that his character was known long before this, but don't call him a Hero for having been a Coach prior to that.

Gotta agree with this, Lowe certainly has a lot of integrity and displayed it by taking that job, but that doesn’t make one a hero. He didn’t save any lives by doing that. Lots of people have integrity like Lowe but would panic and run at the sight of a gunman. Canzano diminished how significant his heroic action was when he stopped a gunman by comparing it to the job that he took.Duck07 wrote:I'm sorry, I'm amazed at what Keanon did and very proud of his actions but Canzano calling him a hero prior to yesterday for taking a HS Coaching job is absurd and demeans what he actually did.
