I wonder if this new turf is less likely to give players cancer. They've found that soccer goalies have cancer rates higher than anyone else that uses turf fields
Why just the goalie?

I heard it on a radio program so they didn't go in depth but were rehashing what this study found. I don't know if thats because they're getting down on the turf more or if its from just standing there and inhaling the fumes instead of running around.

I saw a segment on that on one of the national news programs a couple years back and the researchers thought goalies were more at-risk because they dive move onto the turf, resulting in them being in contact with the rubber infill more often and potentially even swallowing/inhaling it.

Literally everything gives you a "higher risk rate of cancer" . Did you know being outside gives you a higher risk rate of cancer? Its called being human.

Looks sharp, new number font and looks like green around the edges of sideline

Looks weird not to have the sidelines and endlines completely filled in with white.

I believe it has to do with diving into the turf far more often than field players. While they don't do much during the games, in practice is where they are diving at balls constantly, thus getting their face in the turf, and potentially inhaling bits of the rubber while doing so.

You’ve been watching my 5* NP (nose picker) play goalie, you should see her in the out field playing with her pigtails and braids

The field numbers are now the same font as the jersey numbers, which is a really positive change IMO and should be a sign that they’re planning to stick with this font for quite a while.
