Negative: Even if Schooler was going to start relinquishing snaps to younger guys as the season wore on, you want a veteran presence against Auburn.

Positive: At least it happened now, instead of game week. Now Herbert will have more opportunities to throw to the new guys.

Another positive, he gets another year to lean and maybe become a true WR. Ot sounds like he is actually liking the idea of a RS year.

Ot ?

Out 6 to 8 weeks, if my math is correct miss 4 to 6 games, I don't know if the bye week is. This leaves 6 to 8 games left to play. Of those games he can play 4 and still redshirt, by that logic he may benefit by red shirting.

Oregon has a bye week after the Sept. 21st game against Stanford so he could be back against Cal on Oct. 5th.
