Justin Herbert is getting the start right now
Tyrod Taylor was supposed to start but, in a surprise, he's on the bench. Herbert is in against the Chiefs.

Caps off his first career drive with a bootleg touchdown:

I'm about as giddy as watching a Ducks game right now...this is so cool.

Dang, missed a few throws on that second drive.
It's also cool Romo is calling his first game. Best commentator possible inn my opinion.

This game has been a fantastic surprise. Wasn't expecting to see Herbert and missed the first quarter. The Chargers look like a modern team (unlike the Titans). Herbert's future looks bright.

Herbert has the ball to begin overtime. No matter what happens, taking the Super Bowl champs to overtime in your debut is incredible.

Nuts. Great game. That kicker is total money. Great start to his NFL career by Herbert. Maybe he will be the starter now.

The LA offensive coordinator went all Daryl Bevell late in the game, which ultimately lost that game. You have 1st and goal from the 6, and run 3 very conservative plays, then start OT with 2 runs between the tackle? That's no way to win a ge vs KC.

Agreed. I also didn't like them punting on 4th & 1 in overtime. The chances of your defense stopping Mahomes is so bad that you have to take risks.buckmarkduck wrote:Tray Dub wrote:Herbert has the ball to begin overtime. So proud of Justin. All this from an obscure 3-star quarterback from an little high school in Eugene, Oregon, that nobody else wanted. He was rated as the 26th best pro quarterback in the country. He has to start the next game. There would be a lynching if he didn't.

While technically true. If he hadn't gotten hurt as a Jr, and would have hit the camp circuit, he would have easily been rated much higher. 6'6, throws a 90+ mph fast ball, and runs a 4.65, would have turned some heads.

At least at this point, Herbert doesn't have the starter job:

Ugh. Is Herbert going to be under-utilized?Tray Dub wrote:At least at this point, Herbert doesn't have the starter job:
