I feel he is what Kirby Smart was to Nick Saban to Kirby Smart.

Looks like Oregon has hired former USC analyst Viane Talamaivao in a similar position.

Apparently an analyst at Bama named Jake Long is coming to Oregon to coach ILB's. Not sure how that works though, because it seems like there are already 10 assistant coaches hired.

Analyst roles do not take up one of the 10 coaching positions. They also are not allowed to coach players on the practice field.

Right. He is currently an analyst at Bama. But supposedly he is coming to Oregon to be an ILB coach. But Oregon already has its 10 assistant coaches announced.

That's my bad for not reading your post carefully. I am deserving of my One-Star ranking.

The guy who reported it got the news wrong. Long will be coming in as a defensive analyst with a focus on ILBs.

Who knows how it'll go, but I'm excited to find out.

Had to laugh at Crepea, still striking out with his bull-in-a-china-shop, overly-specific personnel questions. The dude simply has no self-awareness.

Lanning is probably dead tired after the last month. He can rest up, but after signing day - just three more weeks. He needs to get acquainted with the program, the campus, and the town. You can’t sell something you don’t know, cool to hear the coaches got a tour. Hopefully they and their families are able to settle in and start making it home.

It was also nice to hear that he was FaceTiming a recruit from the tunnel after the game.

Oregon has added Central Washington OC Zach Tinker to the staff as a ST quality control analyst.
