I saw he's including LMJ and Coach Campbell in his tweets a lot talking about looking for the next great Oregon running back, can't help but be excited about this. Something was missing under Mastro.

One of the least experienced coaches on the staff. One year as RB coach and his top to runners didn't even combine for 1,000 rushing yards. Very pass heavy offense, so really hard to no much.

But Lanning seems to like him, so hopefully he can produce with so little experience.

The only thing we really know about this new offense is that OREGON's newly minted OC comes from a relatively run centric background.
That doesn't suggest unbalanced. Lanning has stated his expectation of "explosionplays."

Well have to wait and see how things work out.

His background leans very heavily to recruiting support over coaching. Seems to be a people person. You are right though his resume as a running back coach is about as slim as I have ever seen for a big time football program.

It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how this staff can develop players and coach. Lanning seems to have hired guys based largely on their recruiting ability (obviously) and his personal experience with them; ie whether they’re good dudes.

The RB room was crowded. Seven and Dollars both stayed after entering the portal. Cardwell looks like RB1 and stayed. Benson leaving is not surprising as one of the young RBs was likely to leave. Dye is a surprise, yes, but having two leave wasn't unthinkable prior to the offseason.

Why does it seem that he's the only coach NOT going on the recruiting trips?

This didn't age well.

Wonder if he's visiting 5 star Rueben Owens from the class of 2023. 4 of the top 15 and 5 of the top 20 RB's in the class of 2023 are in Texas.

Did it? Not exactly a comment taking a hard stance, but keep trying. You'll find it.
