Jaylon Redd recovering from pancreatic cancer

Former Oregon WR Jaylon Redd is now telling the story of how he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in December 2021, got surgery to remove a tumor and is now recovering so he can pursue his pro dreams.

Its a nasty cancer. You don't get symptoms until the cancer hits the digestive system. The pancreas hooks in right below the stomach. There are two types of this condition, one that starts at the digestive system end and the type that starts at the far end. The survival rate of the former is very high if you seek established treatment protocols (you are Steve Jobs if try the alternative route). The type that starts at the far end (think Alex Trebec) is nasty as by the time you get symptoms, the cancer has had time to spread all the way up the pancreas and likely has spread (metastasis). Hopefully he had the former and is able to recover successfully.
