The only positive in this posting? Look who Butler listed first...
"Oregon, Clemson, LSU, Miami, Auburn, Tennessee, USC and Kansas State are still in the running for Brown's services, Butler said."

It really doesn't matter. It's such a joke. The only good we get out of it is that the Oregon is bandied about.
Do you need a transfusion of GREEN O Positive?

Maybe he sticks with Miami, but Brown didn't have good things to say about their OC in the last audio interview I heard.

I really find it interesting that Butler added Kansas St to the mix even though I have never seen anything from Brown that mentioned that they a serious consideration. This makes me think something is going on with KSU and Butler. I really hope this isn't coming down to who is filling Butler's pockets.

I have already figured no matter what anyone says Brown will ultimately sign with Miami. Fact of matter is.. is that his dad wants him to go to school there and bottom line is it does not matter whether Kid wants to go to Oregon.. or Hawaii... or Timbuctu University...As we saw with the Boyd situation when parents put thier own wants in front of their kids.. nobody wins. Mark my words he will be going to Miami.

I think that is a possibility. But, there sure has been a lot of weirdness between him and the program. Saying that he doesn't like what the OC will do, the fact that they got a new OC, that he is interested in more of a small-town environment, joining a class with two 4 star RBs, having someone there say that his offer won't be renewed. Plus, just the sheer amount of time that he has been verbally committed to them, while looking at other schools. If the situation isn't strained, they sure don't seem very motivated to try and correct that perception.GoDucksIn09 wrote:I have already figured no matter what anyone says Brown will ultimately sign with Miami. I'm looking at it like this, Brown has made two kinds of statements. There have been the "official" responses to his visits. The kind of thing that is tailored to not create any ill will. Then, there are the candid remarks that, maybe if they could be said over again, they would be re-phrased as to not offend any fan bases. If I'm not mistaken, Brown, in candid remarks, has said negative things about Miami and UT. But, not Oregon. It's not conclusive or anything. But, that suggests to me that, off the record, he is leaning toward Oregon.

My sentiments exactly, W4P. I haven't seen him quoted as saying anything negative about Oregon... Unless you count the part where his parents say if he goes anywhere other than Miami, they will move to Texas. TEXAS??? Give me a break!

Hehe. I'm trying not to get swept away with wishful thinking here. But, it sure paints a picture, doesn't it?
Oregon sort of has "new school" appeal. Older generations outside of the Pac-10 probably aren't as familiar with the program. So, I could see Brown saying, after meeting with Kelly and everything, he wants to go there and his parents saying "Oregon?" Might seem out of the blue to them.
In that regard, I actually believe that Butler could be key to us. I don't know the facts. But, assuming that he has some kind of relationship with the family. Maybe he could, as a sports guy, help sell Oregon as a program to his parents.
