Pretty reasonable considering the current shape of the roster.

altman has defied the pac-12 media poll each year he's been here. let's go for another.

Just going on what Altman is saying at Pac-12 Media Day, this could be a long season since he said this team will rely on spreading the floor and shooting 3s, which they shot quite a few of last year. The problem is that they have no SR leadership like the past 2 seasons and absolutely no post depth to weather an injury or foul trouble. I think a low-level NIT berth is about the ceiling for this team with the roster problems.

agreed. really, just getting better from the start of the season to the end, and getting guys who will be here the following year some action will be fine. if we're good enough for the nit I'd be ecstatic.

Yup, frankly I'd probably slot us even at 9. If Lyle qualifies, and Chandler can be healthy for Pac-12 play, then at least we'd be closer to a real team. Right now we are so thin.

I bet we surprise people. I'd put money on us finishing top 6 if we can stay healthy.

We don't have a deep team, but we have a lot of quality and a few guys that look like serious match up problems. The trio of Bell/Cook/Benjamin has to be the most athletic trio in the league, and they're all between 6'6 and 6'8.

Chandler getting and staying healthy will probably be the key for us.

if young can handle the point we're going to be able to put some series size on the wing, which will be neat. if he can't, and we have to put rorie or benson alongside young most of the time, that'll be less neat... from a size/athleticism standpoint. without traditional size down low, being able to deny penetration and keep opposing guards from shooting over the top would be huge.

I find it interesting that Oregon actually got some votes in the Coaches Poll (they're "35th" to start the season), though not in the AP. Maybe that speaks to some credibility that Altman has earned among his peers.

Probably Altman cred for sure. But maybe some coaches are completely oblivious to our losses, and are merely riding our success the past couple years.
