Rebounding and Free Throws

Post by GrantDuck »

We're 200+ in allowing offensive rebounds in the nation.

FT shooting we're around 170th.

Everything else we are good to elite.

If we improve those areas in the next couple of weeks, we're a final four team. If we don't, we might not make it out of the first weekend.

Here's hoping we do. Go Ducks!

Yep. If we can get to be even around 100 for both, we'd be better off. Only problem is those numbers are from 30 games now. I think it might be who we are.

The zone did us no favors today. Not sure why Altman decided to stay in the matchup zone for so long when it was clear that was the only way the Cardinal were going to stay in the game is beyond me.

FTs on the other hand ... that's all on the players. We were lucky to escape on the road going 10-20 from the charity stripe. As the great Bill Schonely says, "You've got to make your free throws!"

Really good teams don't make it out of the first weekend sometimes.

Maybe if they spent more time practicing free throws before a game and less on their dunks they'd get better.

A free throw is 1 point; a dunk is worth 2 points.

Your argument is invalid.

If that's the case they shouldn't practice dunks and only shoot 3 pointers. The free throw issue is real and needs to be worked on.

Rebounding is down because Brooks' numbers are down. He plays so few minutes because he is always dealing with foul trouble. Boucher should be getting more rebounds too.

And as for FT shooting, it's not very good, but if Boucher bumps up his shooting to 75%, we are fine.
