The coolest part is he has two years of eligibility, which is rare for grad transfers. Hope we can seal the deal!
3 point specialist with a nice quick release.

Interesting. Great shooter and good length. Any idea how good his D is?

I'm worried about 3pt shooting next year so this would be a welcome addition. he can light it up.

No idea, but naively looking at the stats, 0.3 bpg 0.9 spg and 2.6 fpg aren't numbers that jump out. So I'd say average defender at best. He has good height and length though, which is always a plus.duck541 wrote:Interesting. Great shooter and good length. Any idea how good his D is?

Looking at his stats on ESPN it appears he has played 3 years. He did only have 115 minutes his freshman year however. Can you red shirt having played those minutes? If not he would only have 1 year left.

I'd rather take him than Elijah Brown. He's a better shooter and he has 2 years of eligibility. It's always nice to have a 6'6 shooting guard, great length for that position.

Elijah Brown is a better scorer. I have a feeling we're going to need that from the perimeter next year.HomeSickDuck wrote:I'd rather take him than Elijah Brown. He's a better shooter and he has 2 years of eligibility. It's always nice to have a 6'6 shooting guard, great length for that position.

Johnson is a much better shooter than brown, being a scorer and a shooter can be different. From the highlights I would agree that brown is a better slasher and getting to the rim, but not a better shooter and that's something we desperately need. Take me both? With 2 out of the three of McCoy, Wooten and Shittu if he reclassifies. And if Sorkin ends up transferring take mike from duquesne.Phenom wrote:Elijah Brown is a better scorer. Absolutely take both if both will come. Need scorers and leadership IMO.HomeSickDuck wrote:Johnson is a much better shooter than brown, being a scorer and a shooter can be different. Then take Mike, Wooten, and Shittu with the other 3 spots (assuming Sorkin leaves and McCoy is out)

Where are you hearing that McCoy is out? From what I've been seeing it's between us and UNLV. He has strong family ties there.northbeachsf wrote:Absolutely take both if both will come. He has family ties here as well(Benjamin) but also grew up in Chicago and has most of his family near MSU.
Most assume he was ready to commit to us, then the big 3 left and bridges stayed at MSU so we likely have to re-recruit him but he does have a strong affinity for the ducks.

I am pretty sure he is visiting right now with Izzo, so that is probably not a great sign for us.HomeSickDuck wrote:Where are you hearing that McCoy is out? Honestly, it will be okay as long as we get McCoy OR Shittu and Wooten, which seems possible. If Altman manages to land all three (long shot), look out.
