All Time Oregon basketball teams

Post by Merganzer »

Last night I was at that time when I was slightly tired but needed to still do something important before I called it a night, so I came up with my all time Ducks basketball team, and even threw in a second team.
First Team
1. Luke Ridnour
2. Ronnie Lee
3. Luke Jackson
4. Greg Ballard
5. Blair Rasmussen

Second Team
1. Terrell Brandon
2. Freddie Jones
3. Dillon Brooks
4. Jordan Bell
5. Stan Love

What say you?

Special Note: My first favorite player: Billy Gaskins (1967-70)

Joe Young should get some consideration.

Who would you take out of all the guards though? Young was a great scorer, but all the guys on both lists were great all around players.

Just to clarify my OP, I had the players numbered n order of position, not necessarily preference, Lee is my MVD, Most Valuable Duck.

When in High school we used to go up to the emu and play bball downstairs.
Once we got into a game and Ronnie Lee was there playing on the other team.
We had no chance. The guy played as hard playing rat ball as he did on the court
playing against real players. But it was fun to have a shot blocked by him and
have him score everytime. But the best part was he was one hell of a nice guy.
He has been right up there with my favorite players. He could change a game in
a hurry. Got to see him at the farwest classic against Lionel Hollins for ASU in one
of the best games i have ever seen in person. Both had over 30 points and it went overtime.
Those memories will live with me forever and ever.

note: i only list players I WAS ALIVE TO SEE. people always yell at me because i don't include ron lee on these lists, but i never had a chance to see him play.

anyway, this lineup would mess you kids up:

g terrell brandon
g orlando williams
f luke jackson
f malik hairston
f jordan bell

I was at that FWC game too! I never had a chance to play with Ronnie, but I probably bugged him for a 100 autographs at least, and he was always nice.

I was the typical high school kid who thought he was way better then he was. And a guy like Ronnie
can humble you very quick.

Anthony Taylor would be hard to leave off the list.
