The dude bleeds green, yellow, and any other color the Ducks stir up. He may not be the most polished guy available, but we never had to doubt where Jerry's heart was.

Hope his replacement has some duck roots, or learns to grow 'em!

I guess this guy has already been calling the baseball games for the last three seasons.

Anyone who watches USA Soccer or MLS will often hear Oregon grad John Strong call the games. I'm just a lowly high school broadcaster but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I had no idea John Strong was a Duck. I really enjoy when he does games.

Potentially unpopular opinion:

I appreciate Jerry for his obvious passion, and he does have several memorable/icon calls, but from a game-to-game standpoint this is probably for the best. Basketball has always moved a bit too fast for Jerry, and cutting down on gaffes and silly errors will likely enhance listening.

I love Jerry, and I completely agree. It was usually a vex trying to follow a basketball game Jerry was doing play by play for. His passion and heart for the team usually made up for it but as the listener you often had no idea what was actually happening on the court.
