Actually, tied for second with Stanford, with UCLA picked to win the conference.

I'm assuredly no expert in women's NCAA basketball, but I'm going to predict, barring significant injury issues, that the Ducks win the Pac-12. I just feel that they grew SO much in the last part of last season as they got to the Elite Eight, and then they return all of those players and have added filthy incoming talent. But I'm sort of glad they aren't picked to win it as that should give them more motivation. Ducks split with UCLA last year, btw, with each team winning at home.
So there.

I think I agree, Oregon would have improved just with the added experience of their super frosh class, but they also added some international ringers who I think will contribute early. The reason I say "think" is I don't know what UCLA added to their team.Greenblood wrote:Actually, tied for second with Stanford, with UCLA picked to win the conference.

I do think it was a shame we didn't get Darren Carrington's little 5 star sister last year instead of UCLA, she has jets and is fun to watch. (I have no idea if we even tried to get her in the Super Frosh class.)

Yes, you're right and I can't remember her game. In my memory of last years games I had her switched with UCLA's Jordan Canada.Duckattack7 wrote:She actually plays at Stanford I think..GrandpaDuck wrote:I think I agree, Oregon would have improved just with the added experience of their super frosh class, but they also added some international ringers who I think will contribute early. They have a great chance to have their best regular season since they won back-to-back pac-10 titles in 99 and 00 (or was it 00 and 01? I'm too lazy to look it up).
UCLA, Stanford, and Oregon State all recruit at an elite level, too. I hope the Lady Ducks can live up to the hype but the Pac-12 is a stout conference.

I watched a lot of the preview show last night and was surprised at some of the teams other than the new big 4 (Stanford,UO, UCLA, OSU) that are big time. ASU and Cal in particular. WSU is trying to go largely with international players. Colorado has a new hot shot coach making big strides. Arizona brought in 4 transfer player and a good freshman class. PAC-12 women's basketball is like Softball, it equires you need to be nationally ranked to do anything in the conference.Thurston wrote:They have a great chance to have their best regular season since they won back-to-back pac-10 titles in 99 and 00 (or was it 00 and 01?
