Elijah Brown, so far, is one of the worst decision makers I've seen under Altman. It's like he isn't happy unless he's shooting an off balance, contested, low percentage 15 footer after passing up an open three with his feet set. I don't understand what's going through his head. You can really see why his shooting percentages were so low in the past though. He shoots terrible shots.
Hopefully Altman can coach him into someone that can catch and shoot without thinking he has to make something more difficult happen.

Not sure this is a tourney team this season. I know Oregon teams start off sow but last season we had proven guys and a Brooks injury. This year nobody is really proven except maybe Prichard and they just have a long ways to go. I certainly don’t see any one and done’s so far though. There’s talent which is why they can beat up on crappy teams, but there isn’t enough substance in how they play to complement their talent to allow them to beat even decent teams. I’m kinda surprised this team beat Oklahoma in a closed scrimmage.

Not giving our guys a pass.... They don't have a go to guy, nobody seems to believe in the offense and they produce a ton of turnovers.... but the refing in the tournament was atrocious. You can't go on a run if they call every ticky tack foul.

Props to you guys for even being able to make it through these games - I had to work during the Oklahoma game but ended up turning off the other two towards the start of the second halves. Basketball called like that just isn't entertaining whether your team is winning or not. I did enjoy the Duke/Portland State game though, until PSU ran out of steam.mattc94 wrote:Not giving our guys a pass.... The good news is everyone will be back if they aren't graduating. There is nobody on this team that is a 1 and done. Especially Troy Brown. He is so unpolished that most of the time he is a liability with the ball. I don't know how many times this tourny he got it stolen, turned it over on a lazy pass, or took a terrible forced shot. You can really see these kids that grow up in the no defemse AAU leagues where they are never challenged. The basic fundamentals are beimg lost.

It's definitely different to see two grad transfers come in and play relatively poorly so far. We've had pretty good luck with previous grad transfers, but McIntosh and E. Brown have not impressed me so far.
