Everything going right today for Oregon as they're hitting 50% of their shots while OSU is only hitting 24% and maintaining a 20+ point lead into the 3rd quarter.

OSU has gone on a bit of a run, cutting what was once a 27-point lead down to 12 before Ionescu stops some of the bleeding with a jumper of her own.

After the OT loss on Friday, Oregon Coach, Kelly Graves said the Ducks needed to emphasize defense in the rematch, and they did. After hitting 13 3's in the first game, OSU was 1-7 n the first half at MKA, the Beavers were even worse inside, tallying 0 points in the paint in the first half, that finished with Oregon on top, 40-18.
In Friday's game, Gulich and Tudor finished with a combined 62 points. In the rematch, a combined, 33, 17 for Gulich, 16, for Tudor.Mallory McGuire gets a lot of credit for her work on Gulich inside, and an active, switching, trapping defense wreaked havoc on the rest. Satou Sabbaly led the Ducks in scoring, 21 points, finishing off with an ankle breaking lay up. Sabrina Ionescu had 18 points, 11 assists, Ruthie Hebert, 7 points, 10 rebounds, Maite Cazorla 16 points. The win keeps Oregon in 1st place at 7-1.

Phenomenal first half by the ladies!
Great strategy to really play hard nosed and cause stress around the paint to Gulich, which they didn't do at all on Friday. Mallory McGuire did amazing.
Second half they let down a little bit and almost let OSU back in. Almost feel like a letdown with the score ending as close as it did.
Sabally showed up in the game, but Ruthie struggled the whole time.
Hopefully we can play a complete game next time these two meet (maybe meeting in the P12 tournament)

I think the refs called a lot of fouls on OSU in the first half. The second half Ruthie was getting hammered but not getting any calls.

Very nice to see the ladies play some tough defense, well for 3 quarters anyway. Satou and McGuire both stepped up nicely in Bando's absence. Not sure how long Lexi will be out, but it does change things on both ends of the floor. Not a bad thing, as a zone with 3 "bigs" will force a lot of teams to shoot more from the outside, as long as they don't go lights out like the beavers did on Friday. Still a game they should have won. Hopefully they will continue to play defense like they did Sunday. I am a little alarmed at the late game let down they seem to have playing with lead. Can't let teams back into a game after you've dominated them for 30 + minutes. If they do fix that and continue to play tough D and guard the 3 line a little better, then they have a very high ceiling going forward. Glad to get the rodent off our back! Now the men need to pay back the beavis men for the embarrassing loss at barkratvillle... :o
