Oregon needs at least one of the two for me to feel good about Altman's 2019 recruiting.

Per rivals, Guerrier is down to Syracuse and Oregon. Illinois is not in the picture.
All the crystal balls going Syracuse’s direction right now.

Sounds like we are going to swing and miss on both. Lame!

Hall's family issues will keep him in the midwest, which is a real shame because Oregon was easily his favorite school. One of the few times you can't argue with him picking location over his favorite school.

Twitter is all Syracuse right now.
Who else are we on right now besides Cole Anthony?

Plus Michigan State is trending with Hall. If they miss on both, they're basically down to Walker, Lawson, Anthony, and Johnson, none of whom seem to have Oregon as a leader. Beginning to think Altman and his staff may have targeted the wrong guys.

I'm not too worried. They've brought in a lot of studs in the late signing period in recent years. A lot of these guys that sign during the early signing period end up being released from their NLI when coaches leave or are fired, and end up being available after the season. If the Ducks have a bounce back year, they'll get their share of guys in the late period. It probably won't be as great a class as the previous one, but they won't be short of talented guys by any means.

After their Final Four appearance, they shouldn't be needing to count on coaches getting fired or leaving. It's not a good way to get recruits and much of the talent that does become available is typically a mixed bag of questionable academic/off-court guys and non-P5 quality players. Oregon will for sure have at least 4 scholarships open by the end of the season, with it possibly getting up to 7 if Bol, King, and/or Wooten leave early for the draft. The Ducks need to the top talent now while it's uncommitted, otherwise you end up with a team like last season.

Presumably returning we will have:
PP
Richardson
Kigab
VBJr.
Okoro
Norris

Maybe:
King(thought he'd be 1 and done, but with injury, there's a chance he returns to boost his stock)

Probably gone:
Wooten

Gone:
Bol
White

We have the 1 Juco wing, but we will need some forwards for sure. We really need 1 more guy early, but basketball recruiting is pretty wild as the year goes on with transfers, grad transfers, de-commits, early enrolees, non-qualifiers, etc. Look at Jordan Bell, Dylan Ennis, Dillon Brooks, Chris Boucher as examples of guys like that. Yes we need to hit on 1-2 early, but there's a long way left to go this cycle along with a core of 6-7 guys coming back.

Hall is headed to MSU. Not good recruiting from Oregon so far. Beginning to wonder if being included in the FBI investigation into BB recruiting corruption may be hurting Oregon a bit.

Yeah that's a bummer. Oregon was in excellent position with both. Location was the killer for Hall, and Oregon lost a tight battle with 'cuse.

It's still early, but yeah for how many open spots we will likely have, definitely not an ideal start.
